Mental note to self. Even if one can be cranking upwind in 10 knots on an 11m edge and a crazy fly skim board if the kite drops in the water on a 40 degree day when the wind suddenly does for a few seconds it is a very very very long swim in! Plus mental note if the shark sighting chopper has been circling the area before you go out probably best you grab a beer and watch the sunset!!

Hahaha yeah Eppo was a bit like that yesterday at pinnas, had been going nicely for 30-40mins or so only me an a mate out, 3 more kites came out then all the sudden the wind just died. Every kite in the water, self rescued in as soon as the kite fell and 1 bloke has some boat assistance by AKS..

Good times!

Yeh wind just had an all of a sudden lapse and to compliment that was my kookville attempt at turning around on a skim! I didn't even bother trying to relaunch it.

Thing is on the way to shore the wind picked up again to a cranking 11 knots or so! It was just laughing at me. Saving grace it kept a bit of southerly in it.
