I tested the 11m Octane today, the wind was a bit dodgy and I didnt use it for long but the kite felt nice, a bit different from the Rev2 that I normally use, main difference was the light bar pressure and the bar itself is a lot better than last years with much easier de-power on the chicken loop which tended to get a bit stuck on the Rev2, the kite felt nice on the wave hooked or un-hooked and had nice boost to it, the only negative is that it felt like it had less bottom end power compared to the Rev2 but then again the wind was a bit dodgy when I tried it so I cant be sure. I wouldn't mind having another go in better wind to totally make up my mind about it but overall its a nice kite.
Alex didn't mean to offend you mate, not sure why you would call me "douce" you asked me who Scott was, not quite sure what kinda answer you were looking for?? I do not have scotts CV on me to give you his full details. I know him as scott Johnson and or Scotty. I know he is sponsored by slingy here in OZ is a great guy and I know he Rips in the waves and on flat water thats about it.
I thought you were a little more staunch than that.
Oh well, anyway.
Luke
I had another go on the 11m Octane yesterday. The wind was only light but this time I set the kite up myself putting the front lines on the knots closes to kite and the back ones on the knots furthers away from the kite, pumped it up to about 8psi and what a difference that made to the kite, basically it felt really good, an improved rev2. Waverides unhooked so well, if your into jumping you'll really be surprised by the amount of boost and hang time you get. Basically all that stuff they say about it on the ss website is true. So go and test one but just make sure its set up properly![]()
