Ella Bache make a sunscreen that is specifically designed for the face. Not cheap but doesn't sting the eyes.
Rex Hunt from fishing adventures recommends Hamilton sunblock. I use it and it's the best I've tried so far.
Why not use those funky sunglasses that are kinda like goggles - then nothing will get in your eyes.
