I don't remember many pure surfing photo's with that much spray - correct me if i'm wrong but Keahi's really using the kite there to his advantage... Thats why we use a kite...

if you want to shred like a surfer, smooth fluid carved turns, ride strapless
If you want to shred like a kiter, doing huge powered turns with the ability to boost and get inverted, ride with straps!

Let's face it, if inflatable traction kites and carbon/fibreglass boards could've been invented 100 years ago, surfing would never have gone mainstream in the first place. MAN!!!! that Kelly Slater would've made a brilliant kiter
