ask her if you can pay child support to her privatly or it will be the biggest head ache if she goes through the goverment ...see the old saying if you love something then set it free if it loves you it will come back only this time it was a dog

^^^ When you are able, talk to Child Support Australia (CSA) and get an understanding of the rules.
It IS possible to pay privately and still avoid the risk of BS claims later down the track.

If you want, PM me and I am happy to give you a heads up on some of the pitfalls to avoid.

thats why you pay it to her account and keep the reciepts its not rocket science like kite surfing is wait till you do your tax and then they say you you earnt more than you declared and your tax return that was going to your new kite but now its on its way to her anyway so when i say do it privatly its from years of letter after letter from CSA and recaculations on your income there left foot cant follow there right foot a differant case manager every time you ring there number is 131272 press 3 if you have an acccount enter your 12 digit account number then press hash this will help them seperate yo to a differant person each time you call make sure you notify them of any changes withing 14 day or you will encure a late fee for not tellling them of your change and they will take there late fees first before they give money to your child just like a bank intrest first there pocket before the childs mouth so do as stabber says dont listen to the twat, what do i know nothing but you will hate all those letters

Hey SammyJ, I think to get your message across, and make sure he 100% understands, you should talk to him a Radio Communication Helmet. Word on the street is it's the only way to tell people things...

just worked out the payments.. its not as bad as i thought.. i thought it was straight 18% but its not i used the calculator.. i earn around 55k p.a and i pay around $5400 per year. if the ex.. god thats new to say.. if shes happy with it probably will go privatly till something goes wrong i guess... but im paying her via bank transfer so its all recordable so im covered i hope.. i will call them to make sure.

lol that's so funny, but don't give up your day job. The helmet thing wasn't a personal thing with Ben, he just chose to be defensive about how the buisness he works for tries to justify not using them just because they don't have them available to enhance the learning experience for their students.

Anyway back to Ben's issue, these private matters IMO should be discussed in person with family and friends. You know, the people that actually know you and your situation. Your friends can help by making you laugh, staying active to take your mind off things and when asked give you an honest opinion. Family can consol and be the ones you confide in.

Everyones different I suppose, we all have our stories. What do you want Laurie to do, make another catagory for everyone on seabreeze to seek advice from others that don't know them. FFS.

Ben, my sympathy goes out to you. Maybe go catch up with some friends, pop down and see Darren(seems he knows you well enough) I'm sure time will heal your hurt.

Why am i responding to this ? - waiting for the wind !
I don't think many have the "perfect" life, but these things make life new and interesting.
Just pickup the pieces, and your kite, cry on someone's shoulder (like you are), then stand up tall and move on !
you may very well find that "near" perfect life
don't forget your alias/motto - "H2OFLY!"

Play it cool son,,Ya a bit livley on the CSA stuff that will work it self out in time, and wont be to bad for you on 55k and 1 child.Emotions run high on relationship breakdowns especally when kids are involved, but once you have sorted out your days with the kid on a regular basis things will fall in to place. I dont know your circumstances, whether you are right or wrong but at the end of the day,the kid has to come first, avoid all confontations in front of him.Its not easy to be a passionate waterman and maintain a relationship, its very hard to understand.

Tough gig.

Keep it as cool as poss. Sounds like you are wisely not attached to the consumables (smart) and more concerned with the kiddy (very smart).

Ignore some of the selfish tossers on this thread.

Hang in there and get on the water as much as possible.

Don't let the bad times creep up on ya.

Good luck.

A good talk with a good friend will possibly be useful too.

Like Jim, Johnnie or Jack...

Here's a little quote from the side of a beer mug I once saw:

"I tried to drown my sorrows...... But the little buggers learned to swim"

Drinking doesn't solve a problem, if anything it only compounds them.
