Hi all, I heard there are some china kite manufacturers that produce and sell kites which are copy of brand kites.
Has anybody bought or tested these kites?
Does anybody know the factory´s name or contact?
thanks ![]()
... try google! ![]()
I remember years ago a brand called Sand Groper Kites apparently coming out of WA but were re-badged China kites and they were terrible. I don't think you'll benifit too much looking into these, your better off looking at name brands run out models at good prices, at least you know they are ok instead of going for an unknown.
cheers,

Just buy a 2nd hand good name kite. More reliable, fly better, more resale and you won't look like a gumby.
their retail outlet is through some dude in indonesia
totally legit, but because of copyright infringements, you have to send the full purchase price up front, and deal with emails in secret squirrel coded pigeon english
to someone with a p.o box in bogor (have you ever been to bogor, i got stuck there for three days once, never belive an indonesian chemistry student when he tells you his homemade mdma is perfectly safe)
but just do it, you're kites will eventually turn up and you'll save like three hundred bucks!!!!
a whole three hundred bucks!!!
imagine all the spare parts and repairs you'll be able to afford from a legit dealer here in this great country that you live in with the three hundred bucks that you save...
I seriously hope that you get totally ripped off and your job gets outsourced to china and your house repossessed and sold to chinese
Doctor.....I regret to inform you that Indonesian´s sellers are simply a big fraud!
because there ain´t Kitesurf Manufacturers in Indonesia.
I thank you so much for your wishes, but I can´t agree with your opinion since the famous kite brands produce their kites in China (and not in USA, Australia or Europe with local manufacurers) in order to get more profit.
All around the world you can buy italian´s cheese, italia´s spaghetti and so on....have you ever check they were 100% from Italy?
have a nice day and hope you´ll keep your job and your house.
keep your money in aust, buy a decent 2nd hand kite which will fund someone else's purchase on a new brand name kite ![]()

trust me if you look hard enough you will found what you want for the price you want ![]()
Have a look at www.made-in-china.com/ .You can get all sorts of crap, even though you might have a minimum order of several hundred and the quality might be siht.
nono - theDoctor was being facetious which is a great Australian passtime. He's referring to a fraudulant Indonesian kite seller that featured on this forum a while ago.
What is your motivation for buying a kite from China? There are many posts on this forum about kites from China and how it's just not worth it. There's no after sales service, no backup, inferior design kites etc just to save a few hundred bucks.
The chinese can make a brilliant copy of anything after a few failed efforts usually.
In the pushbike world you can get an unreal bike for $1,500 that compares to a 6 grand brandname bike.
I'm sure there are chinese kites out there, if someone finds a good one give me a try and let's do a bulk order!
^^ lol
material is repstop cloth, carbon bar and deneema line.
I'd love a kite made of repstop cloth, it's supposed t be 60% as good as ripstop. But the word is that Deneema is only 30% as good as dyneema.
A third of the price of the Norths and still the same problems, still twice as much as they are worth then......
I purchased a 2011 kite today - 9m Slingshot Fuel for 400 in great condition including bar and lines. Bloke going back home to Europe needed to move some gear.
So if your thinking of getting a no name kite based on price alone, think again. There are good deals out there.

you sure are a mean person
lots of everyday products manufactured in China merely for the sake of cost, i assume you indeed would have some !!!
Agree with the second hand virtue. Went the same path twice for the season coming. But....be aware the ability for Chinese manufacturing to adapt and solve quickly is like nothing we've seen before in history. My brother in law imports high quality top end shoes ( basically shoes that could get you a decent kite hence I will never own a pair) told me stories of his trips to china and has seen quantum improvements within a few years. He said it scared the living sh1t out of him.
Monkey see monkey do..... If you've been makin kites for 3000 years I'm sure a couple of years from now 'no name' brands will be as good as (if there not already)
Unfortunately I think, actually I know you are right. I'm turning Chinese Im turning Chinese I think so. The day the instructions for your latest electronic device comes only in Chinese is the day we know we are farqed.
if you leave it that long.... you are most definitely farqued
when you have a gov program outsourced to the private sector (whose only concern is making money off their charters) turning out useless and mollycoddled apprentices who at twenty odd are not even close to adults and far beyond useless as tradesmen and in the fastest moving economy in the country, a whole town stops to allow the transport of infrastructure for the multinationals to be transported from ship to site... infrastructure that should be built in this country but is built in china and fabricators become assemblers...
we are already well beyond farqued
