I just installed 2 set of Century Battery - Marine Pro, MP730, 730CCA from BCF
deep cycle 100 A available.......believe they not true deep cycle just more resilient for discharge
Guess design to withstand saling conditions.
Allready tested with 80W solar as the only charge available.
Very happy with them.
Not sure what would justify to spend triple amount of money for true deep cycle bat.
if only advantage is deeper discharge / most charges don't like it anyway / .

Lithium batteries are af course superior compare to lead acid, I have some, they can supply
30 times rated current without damage.
They are strict rules charging and discharging.
Each cell / regardless/ how many are paraller must be charged individually to max 4.1 Volts
and temperature must be monitored too.
Discharge limitation af course apply too.

Watch which ones you playing with LiPo - LiFe - Li Ion, they not identical.

Do you mind me asking how much did they cost Chariot?

Reviewed BCF club member discount, around 200 per bat.
Than I did more shopping, received by email 20 % discount
for orders over Internet and pick up in local store.

AGM v VRLA (Sealed Maintenance Free)

If your going out to sea and your looking for the safety then use AGM for both house and engine cranking.

For inland waterways where you will not be encountering extremely bad conditions then good quality Sealed Maintenance Free (VRLA) batteries can be an excellent choice.

If your not connected to shore power you should install a solar panel to top up the batteries, as it will extend the life of the batteries dramatic. The solar panel does not need to be big if you have your electronics shut down.

If your looking for a good deal on batteries go to http://www.deckside.com.au/batteries-c-393.html

If you see a better price somewhere else on the net let us know and we'll adjust our price.

Hi All
Did you know that if you manage your batteries correctly you can have them refurbished, take them out of service at about 70% of their expected life and a company in Perth can give it a "blood transfusion" giving it better capacity than when it was new at less than half the cost of a new one - Australian Battery Refurbishment are the guys to contact

One of these will let your keep an eye on your batteries so you can have advanced warning of a problem.

I designed it for my boat Trek originally to monitor the bilge when she kept trying to sink at one time but its saved my batteries a few times now as well. I don't know how to mention it without it seeming an advert. but if I say nothing no-one will know! Forgive me moderator.
