It is great fun to watch the market but you have the right boat already don't you. With the time you have owned it and the improvements you have made over the time it should be just right. A good 30 footer is about all one needs.
Briefly. 63 , Semi retired and seperated. Planning on live aboard before heading to tasmania to stay. Plenty of offshore exp in fishing boats and some sailing experience across bass straight. Probably solo most of the time. The one yacht that stays on top of my list is 28/29 compass. Affordable and bomb proof. And manageable. Cavaliers hold some interest too. I rhink i prefer a full keel though. Any opinions and thoughts please.
so what did you set your eyes on at the end?
There is a nice Jarkan 10.5 for sale at Drummoyne near Wright's Point.![]()
Is that Chowringhee?

That's odd, I'd have thought it was Brutta Faccia, Australian One Ton champion in 1974 (?). Originally owned by Guy Fornaro of Perth.
I don't know of any "Bohemian" that did a one ton cup as claimed, or indeed any boat of that name around that time or any Carter 1 ton in Australia apart from Brutta Faccia.
Thanks for that Chris. There certainly can't be many timber Carter one tonners in Australia. I inquired about names because it would make a lot of difference when selling a boat with history to list the boats name and all previous names. Certainly to me at least. I'm not buying and the owner is selling because it's too much boat for his age. He is of a similar age to me!
