Vendor finance is for real estate not yachts the seller what's the full price up front not 25years later. Len you must think yachties are stupid . I live aboard my yacht and have done so for the last 10 years boating is either very pleasing pastime or very expensive and usually a bit of both. I have spent a small fortune keeping my boat up-to date and seaworthy.
You stick to buying a house
I lived on this for the first 8 years then saved enough money for a bigger yacht good luck in your endeavours.
I can see who the stupid 1 is , you can buy yatchs on vendor finance because they are so hard to sell there was a 122foot in fremantle about 3 months ago the owners paid someone $30,000 to take it away , cost them more than the sale price in mooring fee,s than what they where originally asking for it ,But thats just too big. I know of a yatch in gladstone been for sale for 3 years I know of , they nearly ready to give it away 42 foot needs a tidy up built of steel good paint , Ther is any amount of yatchs 60 foot and up offered with vendor terms , but thats the millionaires boats from $300k up to 1 mil plus , acording to your coment they the stupid ones , If there so stupid how come there millionaires ??????????????
Hi Len
Wondering if you have had any luck going for a sail on anyones boat as yet
Regarding a minium live aboard length I have a 28 footer (Sailmaster 845) and i would struggle to live full time on it and i spent 10 years living in both a 16 foot caravan and a 23 foot van while travelling around Australia full time
If it was me i would be looking at something at least 34 foot long but perhaps you would be happy with something shorter
Regards Don
Oh I'm a bit confused? Is Len back? It's been a bit quiet here latley great now im ready for some more entertainment!
ummmmmm .... Len aint here no more Don, reckons we didn't respect him enough. He's off to troll other pastures.
I think he has a yacht, not a ship or a yatch ![]()

I looked long and hard as I had little coin, eventually I scored a 35ft Boro (steel) at Gladstone for beer money. I work and live 300km from there but spent 4 days a week there for a month and did some welding, wiring, new electronics, thru hulls, anti foul and stuff. Now I have a nice homely safe boat with lots of new good bits for under $10K.
I have it on a mooring in the Fitzroy river, I could anchor for free, but if for some reason I can't get there to move it once a fortnight I could be hit with a hefty fine, the $20p/w rented mooring is good value for me.
Luckily I have a guy that is between boats and willing to get me started in the sailing side of things.
Spend what you can afford and not more, or else it will definitely not be fun from the onset.
Good luck
land of land problems
I sub leased land in fiji and built a concrete house..
that's on the balance of being stripped soon as govt decides it could overpower rioting traditional landowners.
I think they already stripped foreign land ownership. and that ain't cheap at all.
over 30 times I fly there, words don't describe all the yachts and tankers in the huge swells I seen out the plane. only being out on the tasmanian ferry is helping me understand the fury a stiff breeze out there. it is good every what not is going wrong while I am on a lake... I already bought a harness, still looking for padded headwear...
