Just got a Naish Global Wave 83l but yet to sail it.
These are all pretty dated, from 2005 to 2009
With sails, try to keep things simple and basically have a medium and strong wind set up for each board.
Medium/gusty = Naish Redline 6.5, 34cm fin
Strong = Naish Redline 6.0, 32cm fin
Medium/gusty = Naish Force 5.0, 23cm fin
Strong = Naish Session 4.2, 21cm fin
This generally covers me from 12 to 35 knots. If it?s outside that range, I?m probably mowing the lawns or painting the house.

Hi Bowsa,
Percentage more refers to the time spent using that size not necessarily the year model. If I did it year specific, I would have to include a shed load more of gear ![]()

Thankyou to all the people that made the effort to jot down their info.
I thought it was time I actually sat down and made some effort to crunch the numbers. I am still working on a few areas but here are some of the figures so far.
41 people provided information about windsurfing gear - 1 person provided information about the brand of mouse they prefer to use.
Flat water sailing was done by the majority with a fair number of wave sailors - Flat=31 Wave=17 (some did both)
Our Average Weight was 81Kg and the Average Board Litreage was 98Lt's. This would explain the proliferation of secondhand boards in this size.
The heaviest board of the Average windsurfer is 113Lt's with their second board being 98 Lt's. Meaning we prefer, on average 30+ Litres for our light wind board.
On average, a windsurfer owns 3 boards.

Hey Phil - you're a bit late on the scene mate but I can tell you that you are almost the epitome of the average windsurfer, which is 81KG, owns 3 boards, average Lt 98, prefers approx 30+ lt's on biggest board. BUT, you maintain your own uniqueness by the brand and model of board you own being the only person in the survey, from memory, that has Quattro boards! Don't quote me though.
By the looks you're a wave only man, under 30, no children, and you walk with a slight limp favoring your left leg.
