Didn't I read on this site yesterday that you guys were trying to work out how get out of work when its windy. I might be a bit slow but I figure that if you work flat out and get the job done if theres no more work - go home/sailing. (surely no-one gets paid just to be there these days do they?) Seems to work for me
Watch out guys, as you know you're being monitored in the work place through logs - it's dead easy.
The legalities for being fired vary from state to state, country to country. But best case, it's held against you at reviews, often you don't even know it.
A few years ago I had a contract to write employee monitoring software in a large financial institution. It was jus amazing what these programs can find out - usage of MP3s/videos on company hardware, disappearance or failure of RAM and hardware, installation of illegal software and games, illegal changes in the O/S, and of course browsing that goes against the little bit of paper you sign when you join a company.
As in windsurfing: play safe...
