Keep it coming boys! Whilst it's impossible to please all the folks all the time, we're always having a go.
The various Windsurfing associations want/need their forums, so they will need to stay, and I believe they are working well - majority of the topics are for "locals" only.
A few navigation tweaks will be online within the the next few weeks, which will make it even easier to get around the different forums. A "merge" categories option would solve all your dramas, but we'll need more than 4 yay votes before launching off on building that.
Speak up now... ![]()
Errr, Yup!
The fact that each thread has its own topic is sufficient, I tend to check out the Windsurfing General, and General forums anyway.....
Keep the GPS seperate, it has its own following. I'll get me one of them GSPs one day, just can't justify the cost of dog food at the moment!
The polesurfing section was a good community once....
and then they shot it up.
It's now a dying forumtown.
The tumbleweeds are rollin' down Geek Street.
Its interesting that you brought this up decrepit - because I was thinking the same thing the other day to myself - but its a good thing that you posted the idea!
To me it seemed to be more interesting reading and more fun the way it used to be; as there was more interaction from everybody - now the forums are watered down - and subsequently less interesting to read.
I would vote to return as they used to be!
I said Aye before, and I'll say it again. (Aye Aye sailor). The way I see it is the state forums are great for things like local comps / meetings, and site specific info, but how often does a thread stay on topic? Often they degenerate diversify into discussions that would interest everyone. I feel reluctant to post on state forums though, it's like going surfing on a new break - I'd sit outside and watch the locals, and catch the crumbs, until called in. I follow the wave sailing forum occasionly, not because I wave sail, but I'd like to, and can learn a lot there.
But would also like to mention that from what I've seen on the net, this is the best windsurfing forum hands down, whatever form it takes. Thanks Laurie, and the rest of the "community", for I think the "community" is what really makes it stand out - everyone is either mates, or they are accepted as mates, true windsurfing (Aussie) spirit. (Apart from the trolls, that is). (Or some kiters) ![]()
Yep for me too.
I reckon the topics of each thread in "general" divide it up enough, and you just checkout the ones that appeal to you.
Or, how about giving us each our own seperate forum, which nobody else can see?
Never thought of that, eh??
Took a poll around the windsurfing immigration detention centre
