^ but you have the pro edition.
most board manufacturers sell boards in a range of construction and vary the construction depending on sailor ability level.
i'm not saying one board is better or worse than the other, just pointing out there are differences.
Gestalt, My Fanatics are the team editions, Similar in construction to the JP Pro editon and I have not yet managed to crunch the nose. Maybe I've just been lucky or unlucky depending on how you look at it. Anyway both are great boards, which ever you choose you'll be happy.
that's handy to know, i thought that all pro/team boards were built light. appears that's not the case. ![]()
[ok narrowed it down to 4 boards 2009 jp xcite ride FWS, 2009 fanatic hawk, 2010 fanatic shark, 2009 fanatic eagle or 2010 jp funride. which one is best
] by the way easty where do you get your boards from in tassie![]()
Btw if your thinking that its soo hard to get a cheaper 2nd hand board in tasmania.
Freight from Victoria to Tasmania is what like $150 for a board, so you can look through Classified adds in vic and still save a ****load from buying a brand new board.
dude dont get a new board. unless your super rich and can buy a new one whenever you want. save the coin, get some more sails and a skinny mast. ive been sailing for ages and still dont buy new boards. i just damage them too quick and thats not from catapulting, just ucking around in waves or freestyle i regularly crunch my boards. get one that you dont have to worry about and youll improve faster than if you have one your scared to break
sick thanks everyone for the info. yeah i'm dealing with damien at the moment, he's a good as bloke. i kinda have to get a board that's more modern because i'm on a tenkate that's around 3 meters long and weighs 20kg
which limits what i can do. SO i thought i'd get a new one and then the resale value would be a lot higher[ :D] all my gear is from the 80's apart from my sail which is 90's and harness which is new, but cheers anyway. in regards to second hand from vic, i worry that it's probably not a good option to buy a second hand board that i haven't seen ![]()
you could geta full set up of 2nd hand gear for the same price as a new board. and it would be a far better option. you probably will have killed the resale value of a new board the first day you take it out and damage it
