A broad trough lies near the west Kimberley and Pilbara coasts. A ridge will strengthen into the Gascoyne from late Friday, extending through the Pilbara and adjacent waters on Saturday and then into waters off the west Kimberley on Sunday.
Weather Situation for Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will cross the southwest corner of the State late today into tonight before contracting southeastward into the Southern Ocean during Friday. A stronger cold front will reach the lower west coast on Friday night, sweeping over the south coast on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure will extend across the west coast from late Friday. Another cold front is slated to reach southern WA on Sunday night and Monday.
Weather Situation for Perth and Melville Local Waters
A cold front will reach the area early Friday before stagnating. A stronger cold front will arrive on Saturday morning, to be followed by a vigorous southwesterly flow. Winds will ease on Saturday night and Sunday under the influence of a high pressure ridge before the next cold front arrives on Monday.
