No better place to be born and bred, just look around the local area and try to find anywhere else like it in Perth. Protected bays, quiet area good fishing.

Lived on the East coast for 10 years and moved back here to raise my offspring, despite the lack of quality surf.
Have a look at Safety Bay Kiters website we are all proud locals, your concerns may be better directed here rather than corrupted by the North of the river jealousy.

Remember with one of Australia's largest industrial zones, breeding fertilizers, ammonia, pesticides and a whole swathe of other healthy goodies anyone would be crazy to live north or downwind of this area.

from memory, the leeuwin current runs south , which would flush out cockburn sound nicely, if the got rid of the garden island causeway. Apparently it deposits stuff in the bight and SA and TAS
.
mind you rocky beach is a lot cleaner that 30 years ago, didnt seem to have many fish and shellfish left tho
raised in rocky too

A big thank you to all who have replied to my post, some extremely valuable thoughts I would never have considered.

And on the plus side, the list of possible kids names has been made easier, we can now cross Chardonnay Mercedes , Tyler-Morgaan , Meeghan-Storm and Japie off the list.
