I'm going windsurfing this weekend so will miss it.

To me the supercar concept is a bit boring. Two cars that look similar to each other and don't really relate to what people drive. I guess its trying to be similar to NASCAR.

I think touring car racing was better back 20, 30 or 40 years ago when the cars racing were based on production cars and there was a wide variety of cars racing. I remember watching races in the 80s with I think Trans Ams, Jaguars and other crazy fast cars along with the Falcon and Commodore.

Yeah Doggie I'm there with ya champ, good close bump and grind racing, 1000kms it does not matter weather all the cars are the same or different, they sound great, go like snot and this thread belongs in here as the forum is a General Forum!

Having said all that I'm off to a little country town called Tooday (Pronounced Toodjay) about an hour East of Perth to celebrate my grandfathers life for soldiers lost at war, whose loss of life has allowed us to enjoy car racing, windsurfing or kiting.

Yes, he alone saved the world!

Lowndsie all the way mate!

Cheers GT

I'm not a motorhead, but the idea that the cars are basically the same means to me that race is more about the driver's skill. I'd rather watch a bunch of drivers on the same playing field than if one car had an obvious power advantage over another.

On the other hand, if I was interested in cars, I'd probably want to see which car is the fastest?!

I'll probably miss the whole thing & go fishing or for a sup...but - Go Lowndsy!

surprise surprise a dog likes watching cars go round, you probably sit there all day thinking about going around with your head out the window or chasing them up pit straight

personally i can watch it for a while and am interested but i cant sit there all day watching it but in small doses it is good and the end is always interesting.

and doggie.... just got a 6'0

Yeah me either, basically like a double stringer, seperated with a foam insert between the two stringers. this one is 9mm Cedar and 8mm foam

more stuff on them here.

Go frosty - and the blue ovals !! Best thing about Bathurst is it signals the true start of beach weather in Sydney (usually!) and you can watch the start of the race - go surfing or kitesurfing if the wind is up - and then watch the end of the race with the highlights - with a beer in one hand ! Not a bad day out on the water and grabed the best bits of Bathurst!!

It was good seeing old school cars from the beginning, the lack of safety and all that!

A bit of rain always makes it exciting.

Even better when you are there. Bathurst can only be appreciated when you have driven around it, even at 60k's skyline is a buzz.

I just love the increased amount of d1ckhead5 on the road that have worked themselves into a froth from watching it and go out revving their motors, 'specially the "2 litre milk bottle crowd"(They make me laugh) and spinning their wheels thinking their Craig lowndes.
Just hope their not full of Bathurst bevan juice (VB) when their doing it.
