Maybe time to cancel this thumbs up / thumbs down rubbish

I just made 5 or so replies to various things, and they got no thumbs. But 20mins later all of a sudden all of them are redthumbed in one go - even if the post was agreeing with other posts that got green thumbs.

Obviously some small minded individuals with no life feel the need to go thru and redthumb away (and do that because they have been called out on their trolling).

D1ckheads.

So red thumb away here to get it out of your system, and leave the helpful posts in reply to a noob's question alone for fk sake.

Nearly always like your point of view Mark... So just red thumbed ya as per your request

I was wondering if there was a way to block posts from idiots that really give ya the sh!ts on seabreeze? I've seen it on other sites...

I may get a few of ya red ones too now? Could be bragging rights attached to the most red thumbs?

Wow, you think really highly of yourself.

You've been on this forum for a very long time. I don't think I've ever seen you get red thumbs until a day or two ago.

If you are upset enough to start a thread about some different colored pixels - it's time for a holiday.

Hey, not having a cry, I don't give a sh!t what people think about me, but it puts noobs and learners off when they ask a question and similar replies have both red and green thumbs. If you have an opinion about something post a reply, not an anonymous red thumb.

Bring them on in this thread and not in the ones requiring helpful and factual responses.

EDIT: Adolf I've been getting them for a year or two

Why start a thread about it?

All you are doing is whining to the same people who are giving them to you.

Seriously, most of your posts I enjoy - if I was you......

I'd just delete this whole thread while you can.

For the aforementioned reasons..... a newbie asks a question, people offer helpful replies yet a couple of people score redthumbs even though they post is factual, helpful, and consistent with known good advice. There are other people also (but they can speak for themselves if they wish, I don't feel the need to name who else scores red thumbs en masse).
It is juvenile and unnecessary.
This was raised when the thumbs up/down system was implemented (2 -3 yrs ago?) and was contentious then, but I think it has got more out of hand so I raise it again for discussion.

Personally, I give thumbs up funny stuff or clever stuff with no reply needed, but if disagreeing I have the balls to post that I disagree. Seems the spineless are the other way around or redthumb ppl they don't like (even though they've never met them). If you disagree, give me red thumbs

EDIT: Adolph I just saw your edit. I like your posts too

I give red thumbs if I want to be a coward and don't want to get involved in an argument or if I can't add anything to an existing argument.

This fixation with red pixels is so overdone - there have been massive debates about this on the SUP forum and everything is sweet now.

I think it's much better to hit a dislike/like thing than getting into arguments about silly stuff.

It's no big deal.

The worst thing you can do is what you are doing now!

I haven't been in the SUP forum so maybe this debate is old

But I green thumbed all who disagreed with me.

It's a karma thing.

back on topic...

I think theree is a limit to 5 red thumbs a day per poster, so they are in short supply as opposed to the green ones that are limitless..

Mark you should feel special!!

Wonder if you can sell them?

nah KK - I think it is 10 total per day, red or green
I've tried to give green thumbs to a few posts and been told I can't

and careful with agreeing with me KK - look what happened to your first post in this thread. Agreeing with the evil mark is not allowed (red thumb that one peeps - which would mean you disagree that agreeing with me is bad. lol)

Maybe you tried to bomb a whole thread with reds and then you received the little pop-up message.
Isn't that the truth, Markie ?

Ask laurie to make a change so you can reverse your thumb colours just like the wind arrows.
The more red you get the more green you see.
Sweet.

But we all still get too see your reds ok!

Thankyou Mr Leader
In retrospect I have noticed your absence and I reckon if people think abotu it they probably have too. If the reason you reduced your activity here is some of the childish crap that goes on here then I think it is very sad that you have restricted your use of seabreeze.
Thus the reason for this thread.....

Of course some will continue to post p!sstakes and thumb away whilst you have posted a serious reply....

mark, i love pisstakes and fun and general internet humour, but when a forum that you post on in good humour gets smashed with an approval rating next to your username by people with agendas that are condoned by the webmaster.......leads me to wonder about the sites goals!

"The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference".

So you have a secret admirer Mark, lucky you!

I have noticed the phantom thumber on Mark's posts, as he says it's been going on for over a year.

However, much like trolls, they only have power over you if you acknowledge their existence.

Be strong, post well, let the red quanta be overwhelmed in a flood of green.
