This subject really gets me riled, because at the end of the day it is about sex. Gay marriage is just a symptom and in our usual fashion we are talking about tweaking the system to make it acceptable.
the reason it gets me riled is because we are so so blind in our comprehension about copulation.
I am a huge admirer of Jaques Fresco. He has the most incredible comprehension of the human state which he derived from a life times passionate pursuit of knowledge. This led him to living with a primitive tribe in the Amazon for an extended period. Although they were naked no one showed any inclination to perv. He observed the sex act and described it as an almost spiritual experience that consisted of a long periond of foreplay where the loving couple stroked one another all over their bodies.
He also described a tragic case where a murderer of little boys who cut off their genitalia was spared the death sentence at the plea of a shrink who got to the bottom to the story.
When this deluded individual was a child he was taken care of by an elderley aunt who used to threaten him with cutting his willy off if he played with it because god would send him to hell. Of course when he reached puberty and the pressure became too much he did. It spiralled out of control as the more he wanked the more he was going to hell the more he wanked.
So he set out to save little boys from the same fate as himself.
So yes we do have a pretty good idea that unnatural sex can have an impact on people. It fractures the web of society which in turn makes us more pliable and easily led.

If homosexuals have a gay gene, logically, they would eventually die out.
The sad thing about gays is that genetically they can never COUPLE.
So we have the abomination of in vitro and sperm donation provided
to enable them to experience a form of procreation as parents.
The whole gay thing is being desparately pushed by it's vocal minority
for our youngsters to experiment with like drugs, alcohol etc
I am not a wowser, religious nut or extremist, just a regular guy who
delights in watching HIS childen, grandchildren grow.
I find gays a sad minority, without a real reason for existance, the
meaning of life is procreation, not self indulgence with anyone willing.

Then I think its fair that I can marry more than one woman.... why not? Why should old institutions prevent me from doing so?
Or a person who loves a doll? (Think Japan)... may want to have his love recognized legally......
To be fair, people love, and if their love is not mainstream, can't they also get legal recognition?

i keep seeing religion,christians and bigots lumped together and its un informed
try actually reading the bible and see what it teaches about being a christian
things like love, compassion, tolerance, goodwill and do unto others as you would have them do to you etc.
you will not find stories of jesus running around with hate for 'sinners'
yes it doesn't teach it's ok to be gay.
yes it does say spread the gospel to the world
'religion' is about control- a man made invention. religion is responsible for a lot of woes in the world and the deaths of many people. religion was a means for the rich and powerful to invade and plunder many countries through out history. its also a away to control people
it has nothing to do with being christian.

I say you all grab a copy of Sigmund Freud's text "Civilisation and its Discontents" It's in the classics section of any good bookshop. It will enlighten you on all your sexual/ social dysfunction and neurosis.
History should be made compulsory in schools because absolutely nothing has changed in the human condition since Plato first wrote about it. All the same socio-political issues then are as they are now, just insert different name.
