And I set fire to something illegally I would expect 20 yrs jail.
WOULD'NT I!!!
So why is it ok to burn your place of residence that has been given to you for FREE when, you are displeased with the fact that you have'nt got what you want.
PLEASE EXPLAIN!!![]()
Do you want people like this living next door to you?
I dont![]()
What I'd really want to know is why 4 out of 5 people in WA seem to be brain dead? Is it something to do with the water?
The sun dosent rise over there till later. And no daylight savings.

I totally understand what you mean though Cassa, I had the same reaction as you when I saw the damage they have done to the buildings built FOR them.
I thought "send the f@ckers back home if they are vandels"[}:)]
But,,,why have some of them been in there for over 5 years?
How come it can take that long to do some paper work??
5 years is a long time to be behind a barb wire fence,,,,sounds like a jail????
How much per person, per year dose it cost us tax payers????
I would think $30 000 per detainee would be an underestimate????
And how many thousand are in waiting t be processed???? You do the maths.
Charge them all with arson and send them to silverwater or long bay. They might realise its not so bad.
Im sure if an australian burnt down and destroyed government buildings they would be locked up pretty quick.
My wife and I discussed this on the way home tonight. People on WSFM were having a rant about it this morning. I think incidents like this are the price to pay for the system the government has.
From the look of it the system is set up to delay and frustrate asylum seekers. Basically the deterrence is an unofficial policy to lock people up for an indefinite period of time while their claims are processed. As some people probably don't take too kindly to having to wait months and years at a time, they get frustrated and do stuff they shouldn't.
This is not to excuse their actions. They should be punished the same way anyone else in Australia would when committing the same sort of act. Of course this is impossible to work out as there is no automatic punishment for people found guilty of crimes. The punishment depends on many factors.
Personally I think any suspects should be tried in a court of law and then if found guilty they should suffer whatever punishment the magistrate or judge decides is appropriate. Punishment should not be decided by politicians or bureaucrats. Once they serve their punishment their application for asylum should be considered taking into account they have committed criminal acts.
Perhaps it should be made known to people thinking about coming to Australia as asylum seekers they will be locked up once they come to Australia and could be incarcerated for many years. Thus it won't be a big surprise if it happens and may discourage some from traveling to Australia.
^^^^^^
im not saying yes they should stay, or no send them home,,,Im just saying why does it take 5 years to make that decision????
Surely soon as they arrive a decision could be made within 24 hours as to wheather they could stay or not??
Why spend millions each year housing, feeding and medical for over five years, then say ,no your not allowed to stay.????
Mr hamburglar........yes we do,,,uneducated bogan![]()

Must admit I was shouting at the radio this morning to send the feckers home...
What the government (no matter WHO is in power) needs is a good dose of optimisation. Round up a bunch of computer nerds, get them to look at the system, and sort out where the bottlenecks are.
Imagine if government efficiency had followed Moore's law for the past 50 years? Man alive.
The reason they are in there in the first place is because they have broken the Australian Law - entering the country illegally . There is a (crap) system that should be used . WHat would happen to me if I was caught entering thier own country illegally???? EH??? Probably shot or something? I sure as hell wouldnt be carrying on like that to get what I wanted thats for sure.
Sooner or later the current government needs to look at a statistic -
In Howards last year of power only ONE boat got through ,,that we know of .
In the first year of the current government (at that time Rudd , now "The Ranga") there were 64 boats . . . . that we know of .
Dont they know that its cheaper and easier for them to get a passport and come here on holidays and never go back like the rest of the other 95% of illegal immigrants?
Its time to keep the media out of this situation and just bloody well sort them out by means of "get out"!![]()
That was unexpected.
There was a moment of clarity in this thread.
I support the Asylum Seekers.
If you've been to the Villawood area, then you agree that most of it should be burnt down. Next perhaps Parramatta, then Campbelltown etc.
REALITY.... most illeagal immigrants arrive by plane, are fair skinned and speak english as a first language; and do jobs you would let your kids sit at home and play x-box instead of partaking in.
REALITY... A very large percentage of boat people pay their way to business associated people smugglers (as in there is an international business organised) to arrive and disguise themselves as refugees...
REALITY... we, willingly or docilely unawarely, partake in an international corporate war against the very people we accuse of arriving here for their own commercial interests......
REALITY... none of us are 'local', yet all of us are....
cause they get denied, they apeal and so it continues. thats why they are there for so long
I totally agree with sending them home as soon as they get here.
Unfortunately, as the have no pasport, their own country wont let them in. And they have no paperwork to get a passport or even prove who they are.
So the challenge in sending them home is finding out who they actually are, and working with their own country to prove that they are a resident of that country.
Thats made even harder when they are from a poor village where there is no register of Births/Deaths, and people may have never had paperwork in the first place.
That is why they spend unacceptably long times in detention centres.
Maybe just ship them all to Tasmainia.
It can be the new christmas island.
Dont worry about processing them, feeding, shelter, medical etc,
No police or military,
just drop them in tassie, let em fend for themselves and forget about them.
Tassie would end up like our very own middle east.![]()
to burn down a house here is not a crime it seems........
Our indigenous people practice it regularly when some one if their kin die,
no one else will live in that house. Its part of Culture. Perhaps it contributes to
the shortage of suitable housing. If you doubt this, look on google earth and
see the empty house pads on quite a few communities. We the public also
pick up the tab here. It is ingrained in some cultures.
sh&t,
i reckon anyone that can travel and survive the whole way through indo without dieing from disease, food poisoning, malaria and dysentry ,and doesn't get run down by a speeding 10 tonne mitsubishi dump truck...and then spend more than a week in the timor sea on overloaded piece of crap **ty indo fishing boat eating dried dog ** with a bunch of shifty backstabbing money grabbing crew deserves a F*&king medal....
it should be the standard immigration criteria, anyone that manages to survive gets a guersney and should be allowed to play full forward for the west coast eagles (you boys have got nothing this year) or loose head prop for the western force and work for australia post to make sure dusta gets his copy of KBM on time !!
