. When people can't say a foreign word correctly.
Like how Seppos say Mos-cow (Russians say "Moscoe" right?) or bl00dy seppos say Eye-rack when again it is "Irraq" (they have no reak "ack" sound in their Arab lingo I believe?)
Just say it how the locals do! Poms are just as bad getting a foreign word and saying it like they have a plum in their throat.
Damn seppos: I still can't believe the disparity in pronunciation (those big words were thrown in to confuse the dopey pricks) between Arkansas and Kansas. If you say "ar-kan-sas" instead of "ar-kansaw" they take the p!ss.... until you say "oh so the other place must be 'Kan-saw' right???"

Just to be pedantic "quantum" doesn't mean "very minute" at all. It comes from the Latin "quantus" = how much

In the term "quantum leap" the noun is "leap" and the adjective is "quantum" (i.e. the adjective gives description to the noun).
As noted above, the word "quantum" in it's adjective form means:

so "a quantum leap" = "a sudden and significant leap"

I've found my Dictionary of the Great Unwashed to be particularly useful and effective at sowing the seeds of discourse.
In particular, language evolves with usage and I look forward to the day when the true meaning of quantum leap is forgotten to the mists of time and will be defined as something ginormous in a future edition of your dictionary bwah ha ha ha haaaaaaaaa

Perhaps the problem is that it is English so it is clearly unwashed given that poms never take a bath or shower? (I can say this with conviction given that I'm a pom and I'm unwashed. As opposed at born and bred Aussies who are just convicts) - flame on [}:)]
Another one that annoys this convict is "phenomena" used as a singular. If nothing else, the "a" on the end should be seen as a strong hint that it just might be a latin plural. Of course that strong hint did nothing for the fortunes of "agenda".
You wouldn't say "Not by the hairs of my scrota" would you? Neither should you say "This joy that that I get from my penis is an extraordinary natural phenomena".
