I don't see the point of playing the devil advocate.
Non one said that dolphins are cool and it's ok to torture all the other animal.
All animals deserve dignity no matter what and I'm sure we all agree with that.

But today we are talking about dolphins because they are our brothers and tomorrow the hunting season is starting again.

Tiger penis is eaten because it's thought to increase libido, it's ****ing stupid.. We can't breed tigers to eat their dicks no matter how easy or profitable it is.. It's unjustifiable to do that to such a noble animal..

LOL.
Why respect a Tiger and call it Noble yet slaughter in their billions chickens?
What about the fur. Tiger skin jackets would look nice.
They are only animals after all.

If a Tiger is just as valuable as a chicken then humans are just as valuable as a chicken.. We are just animals after all.. We should start farming humans for vital organs and slave labour..

You don't breed tigers to eat their dicks just because some stupid ancient Traditional Medicine man told you it will give you a rock on..

They have a pill for that now

These are all very interesting and extremely difficult argument. Peter Singer has written some interesting ethical arguments refuting in some way the 'speciest' argument.

Playing devils Advocate why not eat humans? If we are going to eat Whales and Dolphins that are so high in mercury that it is poisoning themselves why stop others from cannibalism. Lets face it there's a new market for the Boat People?

Remember for those that say Dolphins or whales are just food swimming. How often has your food saved your life? Dolphins have recorded through out history saved man from drowning on several occasions.

Oh and for the Tuna post we don't farm tuna and we still fish for it, but many strains of Tuna are now listed on the critical endangered list? For some like Blue Fin Tuna it is more than likely too late.

One more point on the killing style used. In the old days man would charge into the jungle, heard up a family or troop of Orangutans, Gorillas or similar and slaughter most, keep the young and sell them to zoo's. If that practise was done today there would be heads rolling all over. But the Japanese think it still okay to heard an entire pod of dolphins, a extended family and slaughter them slowly one after another until the water runs red with blood.

This does not belong in the 20th century and beyond.

As for the Mercury poisoning, well the Jap government just lies, covers up and tells more lies.

Apparently there is still no real need to worry about Nuclear poisoning in japan either. They are simply so stubborn that they will lie and lie till they die. Luckily though there people are starting to see the truth and times will change soon.

what really shxts me about the whole situation was their defiance. Blatently harversting under the banner of the science. Buying corruptable countries. Arguing that their numbers need to be thinned out because they are responsible for depleted fish stocks. Covering up the mercury problem. All like a petulant child defying the world community.
It's their culture. Same as the nuclear debacle. Same as writing out WW2 history in schoolbooks.
