just heard the boy's where already a distance away from king island at 1:30 pm and well on the way to apollo bay and should hit the coast between six and seven yeeeeeeowwwww
a guy landboarded across Australia a year or so ago with a kite .HArdly rated a mention anywhere. Most media are only interested in the 'where did it all go so wrong ' stories .eg the girl that was hit by a ship yesterday .Bet your bottom dollar that if something were to go wrong with these guys we'd never hear the end of it .
Anyway for what it's worth my thoughts and those who read this news thoughts are with these guys .good on em and go well.
this showed up in The Age website www.theage.com.au/national/local-daredevils-cross-bass-strait--by-kite-20090909-fhar.html
R THEY THERE YET??
Going by the time speed distance to go posted earlier (11:42 65 NMiles 13 Knt ave) they should be in or within cooee.
What time does the sun set in Vic this time of year - here SE Qld it is getting dark?
And the ocean temp is 13.6 C (forgotten how cold it gets down there!!)
Googled the distance approx 142 Nmiles (260 kms) if they go straight..
Fingers crossed.
also eleven hours which is a pretty big record think the last unassisted record was on a windsurfer and that was seventeen hours super human effort in my books
