Hats off lads! Nice one!
Question: at any moment, did you start getting bored and thow in some tricks along the way?
In 11 hours, i'm thinking, say, 176 consecutive backrolls?
(which, if you rotated that many times, and had the best 2007 bar like me with swivel that doesn't work, no doubt you'd have shortened the front lines so much you'd be literally holding on to the leading edge by the time you arrived in tassie.. )
Nice work and great to see kiters with the record! Definitely one way to make beer taste 10 times better than usual. Big nuts! ![]()
please note .These guys ARE NOT wearing boardies over their wetties .Finally this will put the argument to bed that and the conclusion can be made that wearing boardies over wetsuits is not necessary and is a rediculous fashion statement by people thinking to themselves 'look at me I'm a kiter becuase i wear boardies over my wettie" and that for some reason think that they look cool.
On another note check out their eyes in the photo ,what were they smokin on the trip across the strait?
I wear boardies so I can put my keys somewhere and to store my 4m line extensions when I do downwinders.
Oh yes and I keep my credit card and cash just in case I can't get a lift back.
Sometimes its just practical.
And I wear a helmet, so I loose my cool statement ![]()
Well done guys, good going!
Cheers
Rich
Well done on your attepted crossing of bass straight. Its a shame you didnt quiet get there. Oh well better luck next time.![]()
To get within 1000m and then having to swim is very sad.
You may think that im being a bit harsh but its like making the garnd final and losing by a point at the final siren. Or running a marathon and end up crawling accross the line. Either way you didnt quite land your like on the beach in victoria.
I believe it leaves the record open
I hear your anger.
Still remains that the kite didnt make it to the beach, did it.
Like lighting McQueen in the piston cup
Like winning a womens race when your a man
Like climbing everest without oxygen except for the last 100m
need i go on
Great effort but still i believe they didnt quite get there. I dont think this is a bad thing. Failure is good and should be celebrated.
Well done on the attempt
Yeah and they rode for 11.5 hrs and swam for the last 800M, big deal, they stepped off a beach in Tassie, then stepped onto a beach on mainland Oz, with no assistance. They used their own strength and skill ALL the way.
They made it, they did it, they broke the records, end of story in my book.
Cya and
Goodwinds
