yo two souls the edge is a great kite for massive air but if you like instant depower look elsewhere, i find i have to use my rail to control the speed even been known to dip my arse in the water to slow me up a, when the wind is right 25knts on my 11 its a balance of board and kite skills, but mainly just after high speed landings, she just wants to keep going, personally its
what makes me tick, rider skill has a huge amount to do with it look whos going the biggest ruben lenten, lewis crathern, both slingshot hadlow flexifoil,
but these kites rarely get a mention on our forums
see you up there cauncy
Yup the GT's are great, biggest prob is you carn't buy them anymore. Well also the 2010 GT had a bridle change which wore out easily and snapped, the 2009 GT's chicken finger was flimsy so the chicken loop would snap through it and they don't do full depower too well so you can end up smacking them hard when getting it wrong.
But i love the kite, why they had to change i don't know, why not refine a good design?, the new core is more like a switch blade than anything else. Wish they had kept the design. :(
I'm not getting a lot of height on the GT's yet, I've had a few good days where I've had the timing right to get a 2-4 of metres up and at the end of last season (my first on the water) I had a crack at looping it a few times. Turns out it's true about committing to the loop, trying to bail out hurts ![]()

Long way before I get to Wishy's lofty heights, assuming he isn't all BS ![]()
Tried out the new core gts 9mtr in 25knts went our on my 9edge first so to get a feel for comparisons as nice a kite as it was boosting was well below the edge and bar has dangling straps which did my head in a bit
GTS boosts almost as well as the GT. Found you need to send it back a bit further than the GT to get height. As for soft landings, keep it directly above you for longer. Basically send it back down as you touch the water. These kites have plenty of instant power, so wait longer.
As for why the GTS change (it is much friendlier unhooked than the GT).
As for more height on the GT (edge upwind hard as your sending it). Also, send it quicker from higher (ie pull the bar as fast as you can from 11 to 1) since it's such a powerful kite if you try sending it from 10 to 1 you will lose your edge, and therefore height.
GT 7! Ive had one for the last 2.5+ seasons tuff as! & still havent seen much wear.. and has maintained its shape, often riden in 25kts+.
Check out most of the suggestions above and Core GT keeps pooping up! reason because there a ****'n sic kite! avoid the yearly marketing hype bull**** from every manufucture, aircraft wings are not changed every year! Nor are kites.. Id say they have these foils fairly well sorted by now.. but guess they still have to bring out diffrent **** and kites that wear out to keep us buying them every year.
Core seen to have all this sorted!..
and dont bring out a new kite every year!
North rebel got to be up there. Always get comments on the boost quality. I ride a 2010 and love it. you wont look back
GT boosts bigger (GTS comparison which I flew), now rebels...but rebel much easier to redirect and forgiving on landing. Rebel a better kite allround though in my opinion.
