^I was only half watching her heat whilst cooking dinner but it sounds like she was strapped.http://www.kspworldtour.com/ksp-one-eye-pro-daily-update-day-5
One Eye is a difficult wave to ride unstrapped with the fact that is normally blowing cross off and lots of waves close out. This makes it difficult to straighten out and out run a section that is shutting down but with straps you can bail out up and over.
Many were riding unstrapped though including Steph Bridge in the womens.
All politics aside I have been enjoying watching it, even though the live stream is pretty bad and keeps dropping out.
Yesterday was the best day so far, some big bombs, a few barrels and Mitu switching at leisure.
day 5 looked epic
mitu dominating, looked at home in big surf with strong side/offshore winds
pity about the video quality on the live feed
Hey,,lay off poor sirROWDY,
He spent alot of time on his knees and rinsing his mouth out to get where he is with the pkrgay.![]()

That you-tube clip showed conditions!
I have no idea about the politics surrounding this tour/ organisers, but you have to give them credit for organizing a contest in waves like that!
I kinda like watching it once in a while...........but the Eharmony add says who the audience is.............not me I'm afraid.
I do like watching everything Mitu does....but to look at good riding all I have to do is go to Scarbs, Margs or Gero...........aussie locals rock.
Perhaps you should tune in for the next one Rowdy they should be able to get a turn or two in at Pacasmayo Peru.
Mens Final up soon.
Edit: @ Driftin, not a chance mate, you obviously haven't seen me kite.
The riding looks pretty good to me, except the guy in the red rashie. Those tail pivot turns dont do it for me. Could be why they strapped guys didnt get through as they seem to do that more.
I thought the strapless guys had a nice flow going and put in solid turns.
It could be the debate isnt as big a deal as has seemed to be in the past about straps vs none. The best looking guys get through.
i thought there was some pretty sick turning in there - especially from the strapless guys
agree- the red rashie guy was terrible
that guy talking about big bottoms was pretty entertaining
loved the inspirational speech from the ladies winner - just sensational. They should have gone for a second take on that one.
Mitu and the other rope head were smashing it, some huge bottom turns in there.
Anywhere that pumps out lefts that solid, for days on end with cranking wind has got to be legit sorry Rowdy.I would love a session out there.
Bring on Peru.
Why cant aussie rippers go in it,or Ian Alldredge?
It would be so good to have the best riders there
^^
There should be a sub forum for sirRowdy kiteboarding gossip, infos from behind the scenes. Interesting read..
I'm not a wave expert, but for me it looks like this:
Plenty of wave contests in mushy 3ft waves - might be technically challenging to get a few decent turns in, especially with no offshore component in it. Looks totally boring though, at least for those who are not totally into waves.
Leaning against the kite in offshore wind and riding in a straight line, I can see how this wouldn't be challenging. But what prevents people from doing aerials, cutbacks etc in offshore conditions. Also Mitu does more than that, the wheelie at least looked cool to me.
Then obviously you can get barrelled, and even in surfing you can get a perfect 10 by just riding in a straight line in the tube.
So for most spectators kiting barrels in offshore wind looks more attractive I suppose, and I can't see why you can't do technically progressive stuff there as well. If the added flashiness makes for better magazine pictures, media coverage etc. and allows more people to earn a few bucks kiting, why not?
That said, I got a crush on Kristin.
Airton and Mitu were smashing it. Anyone know what board Airton is riding; is that a custom or branded model. Throws good spray and hangs in well.
