I'm no pro but could the beginners try and stay up wind (south) of the entry. Mowing the lawn back and forward and getting in the way of people jumping and unhooking is frustrating and dangerous. When people jump they go down wind (think about it) and then head back out (gaining ground) and complete a "circuit" when your going back and forward in a straight line and turning when you see a kiter head to shore you are down wind of him and in the way.
I assume most of you don't surf but it is similar to the rules of the line up. Don't drop in on the shoulder. I must admit I got frustrated today and unhooked in places I shouldn't. (close to shore and in-between people) but it didn't seem seem to get the point through to you. If you can't hold ground fair enough (you won't be in the way for long) but if you can and are not boosting (big) or need flat (flater) water for unhooking go south!!!!

Pinneroo is a well known beginner area. It is one of the very few beaches where there is no surf.
It has always been the case and yes it is frustrating, but then you just need to remember, you are a more advanced rider and therefore are more in control of where you ride and you are riding at a beginner area.
An advanced rider can ride anywhere and Pinna's is far from a great freestyle spot, so please respect the people learning to ride their gear.
I have had to do two or three approaches to the best spot and been thwarted by beginners every time. We all put up with it, there is no "circuit" at Pinna's. You can just go further downwind of the 2nd yellow marker and the noobs won't follow you. I've had to ride half way to Mulla's to get clear water. It's just the way it is.
Respect the learners in their spot and remember what it was like to be a learner.

If you want to boost etc why not head further out to sea,
Not crowded, no noobs, plenty of space down wind,it's your responsibility to make sure there is room down wind before boosting your the one that's more experienced

Flat water out behind the island and the the little reef in the middle of the bay a k upwind.
Unhook and boost there to your heart's content
1. This is the closest place to home
2. North of yellow markers??? This is normally the wind surfers area and out of respect I keep clear (seems like they mow the lawn all day here) (and if you do go jumping there I'm sure they will let you know to keep out)
3. There is a wind shadow if you go to north. Behind the point. (assuming your not out to sea)
4. Is seems to have a flat (flatter) water spot right near the yellow markers. Closer to shore that is.
5. Unhooking out to sea is a little rough, therefore hard to get good pop
6. Little island on a twin tip! No thanks.
7. No "circuit"??? I've had great days (I kited there 5 days there week and 95% of the people give way or obviously cannot make ground(which is no problem). I mean no disrespect but this is the smoothest water on the north side of the coast. Mulaloo (where I also spend a lot of time) is choppy and also getting hectic. When I was learning I was told mist of the above about the place and did my best to keep south as possible and also kiting near the majority of people seemed..... Well stupid

Plenty of space upwind of the learners and plenty of flat water between the dog beach and Pinnas.
Yeah its close to home, but there are plenty of beginners, and you have the ability to move out of their way. Water sports 101, more manoeuvrable craft gives way(thats us).
I wish I could stay upwind when I was a beginner.
Beginners must be much better these dayz.

Yes it's a beginners spot but please people drop your kite when passing downwind and raise it when passing upwind. Just makes the congestion easier to manage.
And look when turning or jumping!!
Complaining about pinneroo is like complaining about Perth traffic! If you can't deal with it, it's time to move somewhere else. We all know who's turned it into a carpark, fortunately we aren't forced to stay. Plenty of good beach out there. Pity really, used to be an awesome crew.
Jono has some good points. If there are people just riding in and out and not doing any tricks what's the harm of them avoiding that particular spot on the beach. All he is trying to do is express his opinion an opinion that a lot of people that ride there past and present probably share some wanting to voice and others couldn't give a rats. Just because people are learners doesn't mean they can't be courteous too.
My two cents worth for up this way, if you are in the poo and a fair way out, on a southerly turning sou'south east and other kiters offer a hand, take it. Had one bloke drop his kite in the surf behind shag rock this afternoon, couldn't relaunch, couldn't self-rescue properly, then tried very unsuccessfully to reset his gear to fly again, all the while getting pummelled through main break, hole in the wall, onto south passage and generally drifting further out to sea.
The fella stubbornly refused my help and that offered by someone far more experience than me. Windsurfing Werner in the park might have a reputation as a grumpy *******, but big thumbs up for getting in his tinnie and going out to rescue him.
Thanks for the support in the private meassages, 3 in total. I was unaware this topic is off limits. I won't harp on but if some read the original post I said I have NO problems with the learners passing through (they won't be there for long) it is the guys who can hold and make ground going back and forward through the sweet spot and turning in front of you when you have been approaching from a long way out. I had to reset up to 5 times in a row due to the same few who kept mowing the lawn. I really didn't think this is too much to ask. I wonder how else they will learn. Anyway I hope my cars alright this week!
I don't think Jono is being unreasonable. Courtesy and awareness of others on the water should be taught from beginners up and understanding "circuits" is key to having a well functioning beach where everyone gets their turn. Obviously beginners are cut some slack with regards to being in the wrong spot but there;s no reason why they shouldn't be aware of what they are doing wrong.

It's just a matter of time before a decent accident happens and kites get caught up mid air and teabag towards the dunes..
There's a f**cking entire ocean out there and you want to jump in the exact spot where the beginners are... at the end of the day it's an area that's perfect for beginners to learn, there are plenty of better spots to kite.You should be 50m+ from the beach unless you're launching/landing, there is no no need to come in and do a big boost right on the waters edge.
There are heaps more beginners at Kurnell in Sydney, but the locals strongly enforce the 'circuit' - it is easier to organize because they have rock groynes but they have a few basic rules of when you bear off so that everyone can have 10 seconds to go apesh!t on every tack in. Anyone who breaks the circuit is given a proper briefing by the locals at the first available chance.
Hang on Zed, close to shore is where the wind funnels through best for big jumps and the best kicker lie in the shallow region just off the shore.
Jed this is blown out of proportion. Please read my last 2 posts. If someone is kiting toward the shore and you are downwind of him or her heading out please let them pass before turning. Please do not turn when he is about to pass you and mow all the way back in. And they also go to the waters edge. I'm boosting roughly 50m out to sea. I'll reset (head back out) and this situation happens exactly the same on my way back in. I can't go north (this is where they teach and body drag self rescue etc and also where the generous people are learning going back and forth. North is windsurf area. Once again if they can't hold ground they are not a problem (and cannot control this) and pass through quickly enough.
Now the funny thing, it appears this is happening all over the place. (reading other posts). Why??? Well they don't learn it here or at other "learning" beaches then try kite somewhere else. And guess what?!?! They do the same thing there. Amazing! Who would have thought. Go to point Walter on the weekend and guess what it's the same.
