Learn bad habits keep them until they start unhooking or really boosting and see that they need (or should have) clear space downwind. Note at point Walter this happens on the offshore side. If you can kite there you can hold ground. Well you better hope you can. This level of beginner has been what's frustrating me. Anyway this was put together to inform, now it just sounds like I'm another whinging old fart on seabreeze. Last post and good winds
whats the bet Jonopark's name and number go up on the bumsniffers toilet block at Pinna's by some vindictive nooby!!??...
Meet jonopark here for sexy time!! 4pm.
Just kidding!
Hmmm, I dunno man, freestyle and jumping is inherently about being seen and competing with other crew. Its not a style of kiting one does in solitude. No sweat, no shame in that.
It explains why everyone is as close as poss to shore and right in front of the school. Nothing quite like the yeeeehaaaw from your mates onshore when you nail a rayley, unhooked and all. Or could it be that the hot Euro chick with the camera is watching you?[}:)], hey, and those learners and their admiring looks, its feels pretty good! Plus there is safety in numbers! Right?
Onlookers simply cant see you jumping in boots, spinning, boardgrabbing, handlepassing when youre doing it behind the island or in super flat water by Hilarys wall. Thats the real reason there are 2 dozen 'superior' riders trying to do their tricks in the middle of a kite school in a 200m shoreline area, the so called circuit. Struth.
In reality theres heaps of better spots around, the challenge is getting crew and onlookers to move. That can only be done by the crew's alpha males, the bested coolest loudest flashiest, toughest strongest etc etc riders must lead the second Pinnaroo exodus
..... and .... and.....set your people free![]()
(PS the first Pinnaroo exodus occurred in 2008 -------->Mullaloo)
People learning wakestyle or freestyle need a spot to learn too, Pinnas is closer for me than Woodies and I've never kited the pond out of respect for people who can actually ride and deserve the best water.
Ultimately aswell the people who are tricking close to shore or boosting big are adding to the stoke of the beginners and keeping their drive there.
Also these are often the people rescuing when it goes tits up.
This issue has been blown out as Jono said, all we need is a bit of courtesy both ways passing with kites high/low, no short tacks unless you will be gone before others come in. This will ease the congestion.
hey bo,
i always remembered the day you let me have a go on your warro 13
, about a century ago... as well, juice rider came so many times to rescue any sort of rider, including myself
; darren at aks giving us some demo gear, i guess that s what pinaroo is all about
, friendly and helpy, good vibes for me...THAT S ALL THAT MATTERS mind u i m a euro
VIVA WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA anyway![]()
I think we are starting to get distracted and some people seem to be making this into somekind of Lawnmowers V freestylers thing. The beauty of Pinnas for me is its relaxed atmosphere, you can chat to mates meet new people and have a few beers after a good kite, we all go there to enjoy kitesurfing. The cool young guns usually spend most of there time at woodies after learning at Pinnas, where it is better to "show pony" and people will appreciate the subtle differences in the flipedy handle pass moved they do. Kiting at Pinnas has always been purely about the enjoyment of kiteing. Pushing the sport is done at other spots.
if someone was to go out near the island to ride freestyle and crashed there kite and something went wrong out there all you do gooders would be the first ones to jump on here and say what was he doing out there, why wasnt he in closer to the beach.
the fact is if you people cant see that jono has some valid points then you will obviously never get it any way you just continue doing what you please but dont bitch and moan if you ever get to the point that you want to try learning some tricks and people keep getting in your way.
