There seems to be some confusion lately from overseas kiters...
Some clarification:
Let's start by examining the most basic definition of racism—the dictionary meaning. According to the American Heritage College Dictionary, racism has two meanings. Firstly, racism is, “The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.” Secondly, racism is, “Discrimination or prejudice based on race.”
There are a lot of REALLY STUPID GENERALISATIONS from people on this site about travellers from certain countries, but this does not make them racist.
And lastly:
To all visitors from overseas, PLEASE don't think that ALL Australians are unwelcoming from the vibe you get on this site. I think what most of them are trying to say (pretty badly mostly) is just to respect local customs and observe the way the kiters operate at their local, and everything will be cool :)
I think I found the problem. You should be useing the Oxford English Dictionary for the true meaning. Americans use words like tanner for being more suntanned and seem unable to spell correctly.
The Seppos interpretation of 'racism' isn't far off the mark nonetheless - and they should know... Still seems to be mass confusion on the definition of the word however. I don't get it, seems pretty farkin obvious to me! Too many people wrapping themselves in extra sensitive cotton wool for my liking.
