Did someone say the season was over?

I hope the season ends like this every week until the end of the season!

Sadly, kiting as my over-arching summer activity here in WA has ceased. For the past 3 years there has not been a distinct season as we used to know it. Low pressure systems now dominate our summers and proper seabreezes are rare.

The current trough and synoptic condition are just the symptoms. As such do not explain anything!! Something much more sinister seems to be afoot and we should be asking ourselves *WHY* the mentioned troughs have become permanent, putting an end to our sport.

The past 3-4 seasons in WA have indeed been lackluster, with frequent and long periods of humid heat and no seabreeze. It is a bit of a new and radical theory, but some scientists believe the Earth is undergoing climate change due to rapid global warming. Actually, the break-up of the Larssen B icefield in 1995 was one of the first indications that "something more sinister seems to be afoot". Don't be fooled by the charts that show another few days of SW green arrows. Indicative of the looming meltdown, these "good" days are now also labeled with dark clouds and lightning symbols.

I don't want the season to start again, tonight was great if you ignore the fact it got dark one hour too early[;)
