I skate and snowboard goofy but surf natural, I have been finding carving turns on a tt natural to be a very tricky particularly to toe side. any ideas? or just practice?

I'm guessing but.....

Skateboard and snowboard your weight tranfer would be very different, I beleive you need to lean back more for the TT really lean over your back and arse should be just off the water, arms tucked in or stretch way out, not centeral to forward like on skate/snowboards.

I am personally layed over on transition carving heel to toe or toe to heel, with torso only inches off the water, throws buckets of water cool in flat water if you have a friend having a break on the shore

... sort of on the same subject,,, I watched a total beginner doing lessons and would ride one way normal heal side, but would ride toeside back the other way and no matter how many times the instructor would try to correct it, he still would go toeside. I eventually asked the guy why and he said it was because he surfed for 20 years and didn't want to change, even though he was on a twin tip!

cheers,

Robbie
