I looked at the gear not that I needed it but my first impression as isit looked cheap plastic cheap. I noticed another company selling other stuff on gumtree also looked cheap Starting from one dollar on gumtree. Most of the time you get what you pay for there's no real thing as a bargain.

You have a point, the working load on the 40 and 57mm, which was the majority of the available gear, is small boat to dinghy range but to be fair calling it cheap and plasticky is like saying carbon fibre feels cheap and plasticky... keep in mind the working load to size is much much higher than equivalent gear.

It was a mad rush lucky dip. And frankly kudos to BCF for signing up to apologise.

yeah but weve been ripped off. ive been charged shipping on 5 items but sent 2. $40 over what i should have been charged and these A holes dont answer emails. Im not rich. these guys stuffed up, but theyre passing their stuff up to us for trusting their listing as its word. Theyre not answering any emails. Dispute will be opened today and bad feedback if they dont reply to my latest email. They said theyre giving us gift cards...seriously...i just want them to sort their accounting out.

Yes good on them for apologizing but action speaks louder than words! words/action. 2 very different things.

ooooh! Look, shiny and glittering objects ..really cheap, lets buy them.

I don't get it, when I buy something substantial I want to look at it and be able to assess it's quality and suitability for a job and not just look at some pictures on a web page. Some things should only be bought from a bricks and mortar shop.

I was another who was waiting for the items marked SENT! I received the same emails via my Yahoo. Not through EBay as you would expect!

The refund from their side has taken over three days to clear to PayPal. Now PayPal has advised me the funds will take God only knows how long to appear on my credit card.

What a****** mess! All I could do was post negative feedback on EBay. When you go back there has been a lot of this. NOT a seller to be trusted!!!!!

I just had a look at their negative feedback and as to be expected at the moment a lot of it is regarding the Harken saga but if you look past that there is lot bad feeling from other people that didn't receive goods that were paid for. Communication seems to be BCF's online major stumbling block, plus the delays of refunding monies back to accounts.

Yesterday I called their complaints line.
This morning i got an email from ebay stating all purchases have been refunded even the rope clutch I have already received. Then I received a call from the head of customer service offering a further $200 gift voucher on top of the $20 I have already received and the full refunds also keep the rope clutch for free. So I think not to bad an outcome.
I did make it clear that dispite the initial problems with supply the fact they have not communicated has assabated the problem and not responding to emails is worse.

This came through at 7.35am this morning from eBay "Crustysailor" 27th May.

Hi Chook, We're sorry to let you know that BCF. -boating-camping-fishing cancelled your order and mentioned the reason as I'm out of stock or can't fulfill the order for another reason. The seller refunded AU $189.75 back to your original payment method, and you don't need to do anything else.
....................................................................................
Well that's one way to make money, as I had paid for the goods in good faith early on the 14th of May.
A bit of interest on my money and off all their customers would help them a little along the way I guess.

crustysailor said.. ah chook, looks like we may have been ripped. BCF isn't honoring any of the sales by the looks. Myself and some of the other guys have had transactions cancelled, and refund given. I don't want the refund, I want what was purchased and paid for in good faith. Ebay has been advised. Please let me know if your in the same boat, so to speak.

Yeh not a very professional way to conduct a business BCF.
No chance of the goods and they said we would be given a Gift card as compensation. No mention of that being forwarded to me.

I wondered if it was a disgruntled employee of BCF sticking it up them on the way out the door.
Whatever the case it doesn't reflect well for them.

Looking at the time on the purchase orders, I was one of their first customers.

Like my old man always told me "If you don't speculate, you will never accumulate", so the purchase/SCAM, was worth a try.

Thanks for the heads up anyway Crustysailor .

Same. Nearly two weeks after the items were marked "Sent".

Making a habit of marking items sent when you obviously don't have the stock making it impossible to do so, sounds like "misleading and deceptive conduct" per Trade Practices Act?

As businesses strive to maximise profits they are being run by fewer and fewer staff, most of the "communication" that you receive from these businesses are from auto responder robots.

That you had notice that the goods have been sent is merely a bot responding to your order placement, it's only when the physical staff member goes to fulfil the order that the fertiliser hits the ventilator. Oh dear now we are in deep merde!!

No. Every time I have had an article on Ebay marked "sent" it has been posted. One time before I got a refund for an article that was out of stock it had NOT been marked as sent. Likewise, every other seller I have bought from have waited till they processed the order for posting before they have marked it as sent.

Even if they are using Ebots, this is still an Ebay rule BCF are happy to break? NOT a credible seller!!!!!!

Shane, I'm not saying that everyone that marks an item as "sent" doesn't send it. I am saying that lot of companies use auto responder bots that send out erroneous information.
eg. the other day I bought two items from ebay, two different sellers and within several minutes both items were marked as having been sent. Definitely a bot at work there.

As the OP who wanted to put it out there, I'm sorry for the hassle some of you ended up going through, and that included me also.

To wind up, as most of this seems to be getting sorted in one way or another, my order technically would have preceeded all of yours, if you placed an order after reading the thread.

BCF refunded my payment, then sent a gift voucher.
I received calls from BCF staff, and was asked if it was resolved to my satisfaction. I said no not really, ideally I just wanted what was ordered, but was ok to leave it at that. I was not seeking to profit from the error beyond what I bought, but was sent another voucher this week.

Anyhow, if you ended up getting some products like Sectorsteve, we then that's good.

BCF had an error in there system, they fronted up and tried to make amends.

Bugga, I feel left out now as I received what I ordered but didn't get my money back or a gift card.

Not happy Jane
