A lot of kiters wanted to learn windsurfing so they would have something to do on the really windy days...however it was too hard to master in a few hours so they usually threw a tantrum and tossed their windsurf gear in the bin. What the hell, it's only mummy and daddy's money...

Rather than the usual kick in the cods
Chong decided the best way to deal with Hung Lo's infidelity was to attack his sailing addiction.

If that's taken outside the factory (guessing.. the sign a bit further down the road says "FACTORY OUTLET") - it's probably only about $60 per sail..

It's not until someone buys a sail for $900 that it's "worth" $900.. up until then, it's just a bunch of fancy material (bought in bulk), and a few hours of cheap labour with a small component of R&D cost..

It would be interesting to know the real story though!

Willy - loved your response to Stamp's post..

for a country that created the "Spring Roll" you think they would know how to roll up a sail

New sails grow by the roadside in Thailand where they are harvested by poor people.

The Kalgoorlie landsailors have been overwhelmed by the generous response to their plea for sails for poor beggared landsailors. beats being given blankets any day.Battens would be appreciated.

Think you've hit the nail on the head there PR, these sails are trashed, there's only a few that show bad signs of damage, but there aren't many battens evident, somebody's taken them out before dumping the sails.

Johnny Kiter gave up on windsurfing because the batten sleeves and the luff just wouldn't hold enough air when he pumped them up, and there was nowhere on the narrow end to tie strings. "No wonder it was cancelled", he said to himself, jangling his wallet chain and running his fingers through his mohawk, while strutting coolly along the beach...

No it doesn't. That's gangsta. If they're boxer shorts, that is. And if you're in Ghettotown, USA.

If they're underpants, well, yes that IS gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with it.

I wonder [completely off topic - sorry] why there aren't more Emo kiters.. Seems like it would be a good option if you were into self harm..

Sorry - Emo is the 'new' goth.. more trendy and depressed but less angry about it..

After very little deliberation Rose Hancock Porteous decided to replace her perfectly good quiver of 18 assorted sails. She felt it was beneath her to actually try and sell her current lot so like all good ridiculously rich people she threw them away.
