Argh!!!!!!!!@##@$!!.....[}:)]Think Im going to be sick..or cry.. No wonder you guys can improve so much..It would be interesting to post my sessions.I think I would cry.I reckon I would have been lucky to clock 5hrs planing all season.Mind you i stuffed up a bit & rigged too conservatively for a few of the times when we did actually get wind..[}:)]
Going out today.Hopefully I might get a few gusty 15kt puffs..

Sail lots = yes
Improve = questionable ???

I use to live in Sydney. In my first season in WA I think I sailed more than the previous 6 years in NSW.

sboardcrazy, if you love windsurfing move to WA.

Sail alot ? - Well, no.

Improved my sailing ? - No, not at all.

So what the hell have I been doing then ? - Girly stuff. Planting trees, chasing my chickens around the backyard with no pants on, dressing up in my partners clothes, you know -just stuff.

To busy to sail much this Summer time. But I am looking forward to the Mardi Gras though. Should be a fantastic time, I have to get waxed and die my hair white.

I did plan to sail alot this summer, work just got in the way, oh yeah, and Simon got in the way too.

I've improved heaps from where I was last year.
I think the biggest factor in that was continuing to sail over the winter.
It meant I didn't regress as far in technique or fitness as usual, so less time was spent getting back to where I finished at the end of last season.

I have sailed with my 5.4 all summer. I sailed the SE coast of vic alot this summer, but have had a few good days in the bay. I also sailed 40+ knots about 3 times this summer, with me 5.4 alpha, so that really tested me skills. 8 out 10

We all in VIC would of got 10 out of 10 for our last winter. So bring on winter i cant wait

I rate my summer at nine point five. I haven’t learned any new moves but it has been windy and quite sunny on my days off. Strangely there has been lots of north easterlies here which means jumping on the starboard tack, as a result my jumps on this tack have gone from resembling the graceless flight of a bowl of petunias (oh no ..... not again) to something closer to “eddy the eagle”, nothing to boast about but it makes me happy.

My 8 year old daughter did her first non planning gibe and my 6 year old son sailed unassisted for a few metres with a .9 m sail.

I've got to deduct half a point for the lack of any decent swell most of the summer.

I don't like you very much at the moment.

6 sails on wave gear since start of December... and that included a trip to South Oz for xmas with gear

-2 for me

Have not turned to kiting but have been sailing formula gear.

This summer hasn't been the best for the seabreeze in NSW. Couple that with the fact that whenever it is windy the surf is < 1ft and you start to hate life.

I only bumped it up to 3 because last weekend we got a nice 25kt southerly coupled with mast high surf. Season as a whole, basically fail.

Mine has been rubbish but it's not the windy season up here. Can't remember if I sailed in December Got out 5 or 6 times in January but only 3 were fun. Haven't been able to line up the wind and free time and daylight for the last couple of weeks.

If 10 is roaming the globe I'd rate my summer a 1

My best summer for at least a decade.
- 1 for losing a couple of weeks due to a sprained ankle
- 1 for 4/5 days of zero wind during my holiday booked expressly for windsurfing
- 1 now that school is back, for my kids booking up 4 afternoons per week with after school activities that I need to drive them to!

which leaves 7/10

I have decided after reading all the posts from the east coast that I was whingeing about nothing and having had good sails two or three times a week since November including heaps of sessions on a 4 or 4.7, I have nothing to complain about at all.
Western Australia in the summertime. Regular wind plus warmth and sunshine. Paradise.
10/10
