Pro.
They should be allowed the same rights as heteros.
Religion should not be any part of this legal argument.. just as it should not be part of law making in general and schooling (in state schools) but then again.. that just aint reality.![]()
Legalising g&l marriage won't make the sky fall (contrary to the message from the right and the pulpits) but it will afford the same simple rights we straighties take for granted.
I reckon it's more about the right people ending up together and being allowed to affirm that like anyone else would expect to.. whichever way they like to get their rocks off. ![]()
marraige is based on God, a promise to your wife or husband and God is a witness to it, the pratice of homosexuality is forbidden, homosexuality used to be ILLEGAL.
Man doesnt stopped becoming depraved, man becomes more and more depraved, whats next adult/child relationships, legalised pedifilia, you may say yea what ever but its happening...
theres no such thing as a marriage without God, its not complete, Marriage has principles, morals, and love, all based on the attributes of God, not a monkey, or fish...
as for gay marriage, i say no
Just waiting for the Catholic Church to have their say. I'm sure it will be about love being only between a man and a woman or a child.
This subject is such a touchy one and I have refrained from giving my opinion as a result until now.
The way I look at it is that the majority of people have not given the whole thing much thought. Whilst it is not something that bothers me because there is nothing that anyone who is against "gay" marriage can do to stop it without a pile of **** being brought down on you - that is if you become publicly outspoken about it.
Perhaps having been around for the past 56 years gives me the advantage of experience, because sure enough I experienced a time when homosexuals were persecuted and prosecuted. I was brought up in a fairly liberal household though. The old man was a uni lecturer for some time and po ofters, or homos as they were then, were accepted but they did not push their barrow in public and they did what they do in private.
(I have some funny ideas about sex. This weekend we had a stripper at the works do. When she arrived I quietly absented myself.)
So what is it all about then? How did we arrive where we are today arguing whether they should be allowed to marry, and more importantly, how did we arrive at a situation where years ago homosexuals were shunned by society? This has obviously not always been the case as many societies throughout history went through phases of rampant sexual deviancy. An Iranian friend, who prefers to be called Persian, told me that some Arabs today actually have a separate room for the boy.
My own personal opinion is that they have been shunned in the past because it is straightforward common sense that the penis was decsigned and intended for planting sperm in the vagina and the poephol was designed for voiding exrement.
The reason they are where they are today is a lot more sinister and is only one more string to the bow of those nasty farckers whose intent is to fracture family units in the interest of being able to manipulate them and society. There is a lot of infomation out there about that and if you care to read it you will understand why marriage is being bastardised.![]()
