People who talk rapidly or who mumble and when you respond to them speaking at an easy pace and clearly enunciating you words, they say "What?".
Also. I hate it when you are driving along the road picking your nose and you hit a bump. Damn I hate that.
People who press the pedestrian crossing buttons at traffic lights then just cross without waiting anyway.....
"Do you want to [do something]" meaning "Do [something] ".
It gets on my tits. Whenever I hear it I give a literal response, mostly "no".
Disguised jussives are the prerogative of bossy people who are a little sensitive about appearing bossy.
"Do you want to ..." should only be used if you really want to know what someone wants. Of course the other usage is so common that you risk misinterpretation by using it. Curse the vandals, the mis-speakers, the purveyors of babel that spread confusion.
^^ Also give that literal response. Works great. Being an engineer, nobody thinks I'm being rude or cheeky, they just put it down to being an engineer...
Engineers...[}:)]
[edit] They always over-complicate a simple task with their smarmy calculations of moments, forces and blah-blah!
People whining about their 1st world problems.
Seriously, is it really that bad?
Oh, I can't fit my hand in a Pringle's container.
The bakery was out of sour dough bread.
This chicken dish doesn't go well with my Verdelho.
