Yes often find it is the case that the Cabrinha logo is best viewed from a distance...(approx 30M). Bundeep was that you at StKilda? if so then I found it reasonably funny ![]()
It has to be said that Cabrinha seems to have a challenger in Victoria in the shape of those god awful seagull looking Nash things. Every lunatic and dangerous ba$tard seems to be riding one of those now. ![]()
For a car metaphor, Cabrinha is the Toyota Camry. Boring as hell but they do everything right all the time and never break down.
Slingshot is more of a Nissan Skyline but could also be a V8 ute.
Flysurfer takes the Volvo crown and Peter Lynn are more like old Saabs.
Ozone are a bit like the WRX. Lots of noise and fury but ...
i think this topic is a load of cr#p its not the kite you need to worry about its the rider and if i was going to worry about any of the riders its the learners that are buying 03 04 05 c kites of ebay and expecting to be able to ride them!!!!
slingshot is more like a tuk tuk from a third world country, the ******r keeps breaking down. The cabrinha is like the Toyota Hilux that was on top gear.
Is slingshot like a nissan skyline because it's good at breaking?
only jordy can ride them well hey waxman? Well lets just say if i wanted to break my chicken loop every second week i would still be riding Fones :) if you really wanted to wakestyle you would be ridin the switchblades :) awesome wake kite. Not that i am any good on them :)
hmmmm- Cab kites are lame, they are attracted to trees and they have a large percentage of kooks on them, all fair calls.
Somebody nicknamed mine the mardi gras kite yesterday...
For my 2 cents worth I like it and I will keep riding it...everyone I hand it to for a try seems to buy one- there were another 3 brand newies down my beach on the weekend, that's how nice they are to ride
Tried the 2009 12m switchblade on the weekend. I can't really fault it, very nice boost, goes upwind fine, easy to ride in gusts, downloops well. The major problem with this kite is that your mates won't be able to find you anymore because everyone in Sydney has one. ![]()
ha ha, thanks waxy. You bit just like i expected. Lets just say next time its blowing 22 knots your more than welcome to take my ten out and do a simple unhooked loop and then tell me it doesnt pull like a truck :)
i stumbled on this cab kook the other weekend.
now doesnt he know NO ONE kitesurfs here!??! what a kook!
i went down to the water to call him in and tell him no one could see his kooky boardshorts, and that no one could see him trying his lamo little tricks all by himself with no one around to see or run into... but... he wouldnt come in... for hours... and hours...
how dissappointed would he be, when he pulled his first forward roll and NO ONE saw it. i was yelling he has to go back to the city where there are more people. strangely, he didnt seem to care.
even an oldtimer who knew nothing about the sport told me NO ONE kited here, it was only the second kite he had ever seen there (and he had been there nearly 80 years)...
Cab. Kook. Confirmed.
I have a 10m switchy cant fault it, im still learning and its an easy kite to handle. Ill get a more manly kite when i get better![]()
Waxy, ur comparing Volvos to Ferrari's? Not sure ur qualified to make that sort of analogy given u drive a Kombi?
I allmost forgot, my first kite was a cabrinah co2 and yes i did stick it in a tree. But i soon changed to a slingshot kites and no more trees![]()
