Cabrinha bashing. Awesome! I bought a Cabrinha to learn on and it kept falling out of the sky. I could not manage to put on my board. Now I've got a Slingshot and guess what, within no time I had my board on my feet! It's so easy to keep in the air. Ups, I still need to sell my stupid Cabrinha..

you must of been doing something wrong,or maybe revolvers are not as stable as switch's,if there's enough wind to get them up then they just stay there, you can have all 4 lines totally slack and they still get lift ,when its light the bar on any kite needs to be extended, beginners always make the mistake of pulling the bar in or sitting the kite to far in the window.

I've been wondering that too, trust me! Especially since everyone tells me cabs are great learner kites. But I only ever see switchblades and they appear to be more stable. Anyhow, I went from a cab revolver to SS rev and it's been so much fun since. The kite stays so stable and is easy to keep up even when I am doing everything wrong on the board. If it feels like it does crash it re-launches itself. Well, it's just my experience, I suppose..

JAX you must be retarded if you couldn't get going on your cab. Yes you definately are retarded if you brought a slingshot instead

What exactly is your problem? No reason to get all personal, we're all just having a bit of fun.

Cabrinha makes crap kites (for my style of riding at least) but wicked boards. The Custom is definatly THE best wakestyle board out there.

...my 2 cents.

Laurie....maybe this thread should be locked out. It has turned into a bunch of relative newbs bashing Cabrinha vs Slingshot (again....yawn). I don't think Andy or Hudson deserve this rubbish. It also serves our sport no useful purpose. Lets keep it real.

I've been flying SS for a few years now and very happy with them.

I had a chance to demo one of Hudson's 12 switchy at the Robe wave titles and there's certainly nothing wrong with them. Infact, I ended up demoing it 3 times over the week.

I would buy a CAB tomorrow if they had a bar similar to the SS . It comes down to what ever floats ya boat.

Get out there and enjoy the great sport we have. Bitching about crap like this solves nothing.

Up to over 120 replies with in a couple of weeks that must be a record, man who said cabrinas couldnt set records.

Where did the north, naish kites bashing pages go. If they had to go why is this one still hear?

Lets get rid of this rubish thread so that cab riders can feel like they can come down the beach again and not cop a hard time.

Yeah I'm sure most Cabrinha riders will have a real complex now, have to wear disguises
and kite at a remote beach so we won't get a hard time.

Tend to agree there... I had a go of a Cabrina 2008 yesterday and I was shocked how bad it flew. But this years boards do look hot.

Really? A bloke lent me his 7m 09 switchblade for a session in big winds earlier this year. Way more stable than my ozone 7m.
Maybe the one you flew was just badly tuned.

I'm just starting out, got a new 10m switchy, and after three lessons I still can't do a double backroll. If only someone warned me off cabs!

See you SA guys around at largs. I'll be the guy up a tree.

Iv got an 08 switchblade 12m and a 09 8m switchblade. Rock solid construction .Flys like a dream. Relaunchs like its alergic to water.(insert tree joke here)Couldnt be happier. Dont even feel the need to look at another kite. So happy with what i bought. There maybe better kites out there but what I have works so well i cant even comprehend where the improvements could be. Bash 'em all you like. If i bust one up Il be straight down the shop to fork out for another.

I bought a Cab once and it blew up The Cabs that I see at my beach are less than a year old and look and feel like an old sheet whats going on there? Also I see a lot of people having trouble with their lines stretching to... Glad I fly SS now.

THE coolest kite is debatable but the coolest kiter ever is definitely Andy Hurdman- check out his styles inbetween the footage of nocturnal activities on Surf F$%#&*s, the slingshot kites don't go down but plenty of people go down on them

As far as Cabs go- I like them, and until I ride something better I will keep riding them- now if they could only make a Cabrinha porno I would pledge allegiance for life......

The way I read it, it reads like good old Aussie banter, with the occasional bitter & twisted person thrown in for good measure.

Remember those days when you didn't know what squat and would spend every waking minute chasing the opportunity to kite, rather than debating kite heirarchy.

Maybe revisit the "You know you're addicted..." topic for a refresh!

I have loved seeing all the gadgets Cabrinha have brought out over the years, Recon1, recon2, the red over-ride ball on the Crossbow1, the bungee cords, the incredible complexity of the trim strap, which is always just out of reach, and the IDS just to name a few.
The Crossbow 1 was my favourite, you could sit down for 45 mins and sooner or later someone would crash it full power and rip, straight up the guts. I also used to love seeing guys ride back to the beach with their kite inside out wondering what the hell is wrong with my kite.

Their aftersales service in Australia is very good and looking after their customers has made them keep loyal kiters who upgrade automatically to another cabrinha. Pity Pete said I'll never make another C-kite again, (The gonad is not a real c kite) otherwise I might be tempted to be uncool
