Agreed with JL.
Slave, perhaps you could put that great mind of yours to work and come up with a one pump redesign.
Back to ball.
wave slave needs to burry his head in the sand and pull it out when his attitude to kiteing improves. he`ll be there a while. dh
^^^^^^what he means is........ 1 strut + bladder + valve = 200g
extra weight from 1 pump 50g
400% of 50 is 200.....get it.
Hey LIL
Er.. I didn't want to start a Naish bash - so I didn't name them (I think Best has internal linkiing also?) but putting the fiddly bits inside the sewn up stuff is not a great idea IMO. It may save a tiny bit of aerodynimc efficiancy but what a hassle - compared to external fiddly bits.
2nd Er.. I worded that badly (and embelished a tad
). I meant lopping off 2 struts - compared to 5 on most kites - would probably save more weight than the addition of a few extra bits of plumbing. Actually I did exagerate and it might break even but I think the 2 struts would be a lot more weight?
I like the idea of helium filled kites tho - surprised no-one has suggested it before.![]()

Dont see how one pump is a DISASTER when something goes wrong???????
Each strut is clamped off seperate so if one strut leaks the whole kite dosent deflate.Same us multi inflate.
Its no harder to repair a strut or find a leak.
Quicker to inflate and deflate.
Whats ya problem????????
Or have you just run out of things to complain about??![]()

I take it by your attitude that you don't ride a one pump kite? So what do you care if other kites have the onepump or not? Personally, as Sir Rowdy stated, easy to realign bladders if/when needed to repair, never had a problem with the system itself (damn simple) and never have to worry about inflating small bladders and trying to pinch them off quickly without losing air.
I shouldn't be replying, been drinking too much![]()
One positive with multiple pump is while you're spending time trying to inflate all those struts hopefully gives you less time to post you're trivial crap here!
one pump means all struts are uniform in pressure.
I have used kites with one pump for years. One kite has been bashed for 3 seasons. Never had a problem with one pump. Never had a problem repairing bladder leaks because of one pump. I have saved countless minutes each session in setup time.
One pump conveinience far outways any perceived negatives.
I wouldn't buy a kite without it
Maybe time to go back to poledancing slave?????![]()
The amount of whinging,,,seems your at that whinging old man age that suits windsuffering.![]()
lol
Then you wont have to be streessssssed out about death leashes, one pumps or if strapped riders should be labled.![]()

Cant wait for the release of the 2011 SLAVE kite.
With the NO DEATH LEASH attachment points.
And
Simple 7 point inflation system.![]()

By the looks of it,
It seems fashion outweighs function when it comes to kite design.
The sport has been totally pussified.
It's only a matter of time when I'll have no choice but to buy a one-pump kite.
When that happens, I might become the first guy ever to convert a one-pump into a multi-pump kite.
(Unless someone has already done this?)
It could be a nice little project for me.
One pump is function,,,,not fashion???
Quicker,simple,easy = function
Yeah,I'll shut up now,,
I know Im just bangen my head against the wall![]()
all in good fun slave![]()
Legitimate question here. Even though this thread has become one of the funniest ,yet disturbing I have read for a while.
Mr Slave, have you made your own kite yet? I would have thought you have the equipment and the technology to do so. If not, why not?
I've invented a pump with seven outlets and over 10m of hose. One pump convenience with 8 valve reliability.
surprised no-one has thought of it before.
Maybe slave is just sick of being everyones kite bitch because everyone else wtih onepump is setup quicker than him and has to launch them all ![]()
