If that was a noreaster blowing it would be very difficult to make , angle is all wrong . After you heel try it in a southeaster next time and PLEASE make sure there is no one on the other side as there was on this occasion. Looking forward to your next vid when you do this. Expect to be hammered by the kite cops !

Matt always great to see you having fun ......
Thanks for the laugh, we all stuff up, at least you see the funny side.. and don't hide it.
And although you fly a "tree finder" (possibly now shreaded), anyone that knows you, knows you can actually kite.
Can't wait to catch up and take the piss pout of you.

Pro Tip: If you need to be swooping for power you don't have enough wind to jump a rock wall.

LOL! Did crazyman-dan put you upto this? He's always jumping that wall with his 13m kite.
To me that looks like a straight easterly maybe with a touch of south? If it was a NE you'd go from the other side like crazyman dan does.

Only in this sport do we discuss the brand of equipment that this fool nearly died with.

If this was motocross or mountain biking we would be criticising his lack of talent and style!!!

What the?

Sick Vid Matt, great way to get kiting banned on the coast mate, the situation at Currumbin is delicate enough as it is, with the clubbies just waiting for a serious accident so they can get kiting banned altogether, great effort 10/10 for being a total tool.

Firstly there is always people who knock people down... It's a fact of our culture...

I for one give credit to this dude. Go big and jump rockwalls also jibb random stuff. At least he's having a go albeit if he started it out all wrong. If you do this sort of stuff think about the consequences.. And be prepeared to deal with them if or when it goes bad.. Entertainment value wise it was funny as.. As people on the beach probably thought too. If he had stuck the jump would you all be so negative.. Me thinks not and it would be like 'that was cool mate'..

Kiting is an extreme sport. It's heading way too lame right now with everyone so 'touchy feely' saying 'you cant do this or you cant do that'... Do what you want and go as hard as you want.

I know that Shorncliffe pier will be jumped this year at Sandgate. There are 3 of us that are already waiting for the right day to do it and it will be posted.. Then you can say that we are knobs also..

As for cabrinha jokes... Whatever.. It's dependent on the riders skill and conditions more than the kite. I've seen some pretty cool stuff done of Cabs and have owned one previously.

Anyways thats my rant..

JPout.

Yeah, go big and jump rockwalls all you like it is great fun, but don't do it at Currumbin as it will get kiting banned on the coast. If you are happy to pay the consequenses for being the one who gets kiting banned on the coast, go and jump as many walls on the coast as you like

I dont think anyone will have a problem with you jumping a pier, as long as you do it properly, get the pier shut down to public access and have the councils aproval plus any other rescue/ ambulance equipment needed to stage the stunt.

No one really cares if you get killed doing it just dont get the spot shut down. Do it properly and do it once. Go big cant wait to see the footage.

I think their is a fair difference between performing an organised stunt (such as a pier jump) and jumping some random rock wall in a spot that you shouldn't even be kiting at (such as the wall inside the river mouth at Currumbin). Obviously there are a lot of people that still can't grasp the difference between these two scenarios.
