Hahahahahahaha Blow that there wasn't nearly enough wind for the speed he needed. Good for havin a go though, but maybe try a different spot. I've got a pier at my local also and am waiting for the right wind.
Actually the right wind's been there a few times but i've been too chicken to do it ![]()
holly sh!t man that looked like it hurt
we got a jetty that goes out in our estuary but i don't think ill be doing that
gota laugh but what a tool.
Maybe next time you could line up a kid on the beach.
should get a laugh out of that
How much wind are you waiting for to jump sandgate pier? I will bring a few cartons. And what wind direction? Where is this pier anyway? I normally to mudcliffe not mudgate, but will be there watching and giving you beer afterwards.
Off topic, this is what would happen if they let the "full sick bro" gen of kiters drive trucks on their P plates at mines. Got to love Gen Y's. ![]()

Good on you for giving it a shot, make sure you post the vid when you make it next time!
Theres more to kiting that just staying upwind, seems like a lot of people have forgotten that.
Its supposed to be an "extreme" sport. Extreme things make it fun! Just riding out and back in over and over again may be fine for some but don't knock the people who want to push it further.
Ignore the haters dude
looking forward to part 2, good to hear you and your gear were ok.
^^^
Um, there is a difference between an extreme sport and an extremely stoopid sportsperson.
In extreme sports, the most extreme people (Laird Hamilton, Bob Burnquist, Ruben Lenten, for example) work up to their achievements gradually. They match their skill level to the feat they want to attempt.
Extremely stoopid sportspeople, on the other hand, attempt dangerous things beyond their skill level, without a backup plan, and without waiting for the right conditions, relying on hope and bravado.
Yeah man ignore the people that are telling you you are an idiot for kiting in a spot you shouldn't and jumping over a wall... ROCK ON DUDE! (literally)
when is this shorncliff jump taking place.. should get jimmy from wello to come.. he jumped the wello wharf so he should be an expert
Not sure what All the fuss is about, we have a crew of beach jumpers and the record is 3 four wheel drives lined side by side, how about half you button cruncher forum geeks, get out there and put your name down to some stuff that will advance the sport.
over and out
lol, what where you thinking... "oh i might try to jump this breakwater rock"
the video looks random and so i got a laugh (since you weren't hurt).
the smart move would of been to go to the end of the rock breakwater and do a ghost jump first, spot your landing and see if it looks that you would of cleared the rocks had they been there, but the smartest move is not to attempt these things and if you do.. just share it with mates. ![]()
All our beach jumping is controlled in the fact we only EVER jump 1 at a time!
Always make sure you ride with a safety, not just hooked to your chicken loop
dont unhook unless you are sure you can do the pass safely
never do it offshore
always tell your mate what trick you plan to do
dont jump over bathers unless you advise them
Other than this i guess the rest is common sense, and those that havent tried it should def give it a go
over and out
Gee.... Wish you kited at my local, sooner you're "over and out" the better by the sounds of it.
hahaaha are you one of those 17 year old kids that kite at currumbin? if so well done because we need to thin out twits like you. try an inverted handle pass next time that way u might land on your head. better luck next time.
And to the guys jumping the pier. grow some balls and jump the 3 bridges that go to redcliffe, that would be so fully sick man, wow u would be heroes, ha.
