This User person is giving kiters a bad name. I wonder if the other kiters know what he's up to.

I've got nothing against kiters, the majority are wind sport freaks just like us, but this User one, his posts are not aligned with what would be the better person behind the user name.

I think you might be on to something Revhead.

Just look at the length of this thread, about half of it generated by an anonymous troll. C'mon guys. Show some restraint. There's NOTHING genuine about User.

He does not windsurf or kitesurf, the wettest he gets is when he gets all these bites from trolling, don't feed the troll, ignore all his attempts to get a bite, he will go away if we ignore him for long enough

Thanks 4 the invite back into this forum HEAD STOMPER ....i thought i had enough.
But hey with you in im in.

user realise firstly.... Leave windsurfer to be free from the general public night mere kiting is creating ....we are free to use the beaches AND have the respect of surfers at all surf breaks AND give them total right of way ,with a happy change over from glassy conditions to 15 KNOT SIDE OFF SHORES.......this has been earned not implied over 25 years......infact WINDSURFING invented big wave riding with the use of footstraps ON SURFBOARDS.
IM not intrested in defending MY WINDSURFING life style to kiters whom tell me its better ....better than what? WITH your self regulating and police rules.............. and the implied stance/ position if your on the beach doing your own thing you have to drop my kite.

Most imprtantly your kiting world well implode on each other when 20 kites turn up at the same spot/ surf break....... yippie

Mean time us pollies will just dance and carve around you , point and collect your boards and organise rescues.

I'm wondering if we should merge the Windsurfing & Kitesurfing forums when there's been no wind for 2+ weeks .. oh .. wait .. it's already happened!

The forums find work for idle hands!

I sincerely hope there is nobody out there reading this thread with a serious face .. like this one ..

It needs to be read with this one ...

It's funny....and it's sad too.
This thread contains a lot of posts from poleys who are just having a bit of a harmless chuckle.
Chuckleheads.
lol.
But there are also some folks (I won't name names) who are really showing their true colours.
The tone is so obvious that it's cringeworthy.
These are the real haters, these are the twisted mo-fo's.
These are the evil-poleys who wish unpleasant things upon kitesurfing....
like bans and bad-vibes.
Maybe it's just like how some malibu-riders really hate shortboard surfers.
Maybe polesurfing is the longboard....and kiting is the shortboard of windsports....
......and then along comes something called stand-up paddleboards.

Just back on topic.

Today while I was rigging up I over heard two different conversations that went along the lines of "Daddy is that one of those kites that got dragged along the beach." The reply was very interesting."Yes and dont go near it."
Were they referring to Tuesday night???
Cheers

I don't even know: What are they constructed out of - kites? Are they soft and fluffy or do they have a carbon fibre skelton or something?

If I get hit in the head will it go CRACK! or boing?

I think you'll find the proposed ban in maui is for all sail powered vessel, which does incl kites, which means we all go down. seems like you have a little bit of information bout a wide range of issues user.
By the way you can keep kite beach, I have little desire to sail at any sewage works.

Hi Waveslave. Guess you're referring to me.

Yes I have had a rather nasty run in with a Kiter, but generally don't have many problems with kiters - there is generally plenty of room for kiters and poleys where I normally sail and most kiters are fairly normal cool people but some, well there is definitely the "look at me set into kiting".

Seems to me a few of you are rather touchy on the subject of bans - so I just love stirring the pot a little and it works - the best thing about the internet is that often you cannot workout if someone is saying things to stir or are serious, some people are so easy to upset . Personally I don't care if kiting gets banned or not, but the next run-in I have due to total incompetence and neglect of others safety will result in complaints to the right authorities. But really, you guys should be more self-regulating otherwise the sport will endup with nowhere to go.

So chill-out Waveslave and enjoy the banter.

PS: rather than "shoot the messenger" why don't you work on solving the problem - otherwise people will think you are always defending the kooks in your sport, and that will be the view of all outside the sport - you should really be trying to solve the cause, that means removing the kooks behaviour from your sport. But a few of you guys do seem to be rather more concerned about what gets written and how to downplay it or put a positive spin on it rather than removing that cause - hmmm sounds like a politicians antics.

the problem is that if someone, anyone, wants to go there for a swim, then all the kiting will have to stop until that person decides to leave. Its only a couple of metres up the road to where all the locals camp and fish. If they decide they want kite beach as well, all they have to do is go for a swim. Just as the surfers were doing at hookipa.
