All you need guys is to get injured and then you dont care about the forecast, stop your bleeting !!!!

a relevant answer of mine..windguru and our national forecast says just 18kts. monsoon winds southwest JUST for today, so i drop everything and drove crazy. peeked at the seas and trees and didn't hesitate..rigged a 6.1 and a 95ltr. and hustle down to the water and immediately wham a gust hits the board and tumbles it over, so i set it back to windward and tried a beachstart and kapow knocked over in front. by now my shoulders were aching and am now thinkin' this is not 18 more like 30..i thought out loud "don't push me mother earth" btw that's superman's line! and i waterstart i couldn't make the board run straight and slide, damn! i try again as i was lifting the sail a gust slams the sail on my head and ripped the sail half a panel..ok! let me get some more juice outta myself and try harder, so i slip unto the straps and went full speed thru the waves and slam! catapult..by this time i was really peeved why don't just call it a day or derig to a smaller one?!?but no! i have to make a gybe to complete my outing i step on the rails and as i was turning the waves clobber me from behind and over-rotated and got stacked by the sail backwards..so i call it a day and from now on what i see as seahorses should be checked carefully if they're running bulls..so with a sprained shoulder and bumpy elbow i can still grin man! what was i trying to do..

From the BOM's website for Qld- "A low will develop off the
southern coast north of Fraser Island overnight Friday and will most likely
produce gale force winds and very rough seas along the coast south from Fraser
Island. "

The wind drought on the GC may end soon!

You gotta get off the flat water windwoosie crap before you can snake in the waves.
No need to show anyone how to vote. Thats what all of Australia did last weekend.

I have noticed over the years that a quiet spell is usually followed up with something extreme.

the weather we are getting at the moment reminds me of the old days where we would get 4-6 weeks of nothin and then a huge cyclone would head down the coast.

also could be that huey has spied evlpandas lastest purchase or that nebbian has somehow upset the time space continuem by going to WA.

4-6 weeks of nothing, I dont remember that mate not even in winter well maybe if you sailied at Caloundra . The patterns we are getting now we dont normally get until January. It hasnt even been hot yet. Not that i mind a good SE but they dont seem to last anymore. Cannot bet a good NE i say .

caloundra rocks mate. especially in the old days. best spot in qld in it's day. NE breezes every arvo. ahhh.... the magic. then in a SE go to the bar.........

p.s. you don't come from another state do you? don't remember the early 90's?

It's a bit like watching a horse race: "C'mon weekend, c'mon".

What are you guys talking about! no wind in Queensland I just sailed 6 days of out 8 up at Burrum Heads. Admittedly I was using a 6.6m mostly but a few times I was really powered up on my 5.8m.

Gestalt I remember the good old days at Caloundra, 1 to 2 weeks of full on SE followed by a week of NE seabreezes. I don't know what happened doesn't seem to have been like that since the 90's. Head north I say, or like Nebbian west.

Nebbian enjoy Green Head, I had one of my best days sailing there ever on a 4.7m, just watch the reef at low tide! got to coronation beach and there wasn't any wind.
